Finally broke into the 10mm

I've settled on an Accurate 40-200c for my 10 mil.
Habe never ran it across a chrono. I use a near max load of Longshot out of a factory length aftermarket barrel. It passes through everything I shoot it with. I'd imagine she clocks around 1100 to 1150 fps.

It finally warmed up enough to test the 190 gr bullet and 2400 combo. I got on the bench and settled the pistol in as best I could. The 12.4 gr load was more than snappy but less than violent in recoil.

Velocity was spotty, I could only get 1 reading at 1172 fps so I'm not sure I'm wiling to trust that yet. I shot 2 identical loads other than lubricant. One was with a traditional LSL, the other was PC. The preferred load was the PC load by more than an inch.

Test targets are at 25 yds, LSL target was first and brought in a 4.7" 15 round group. The PC load showed favor in the 10mm bringing in a 3.8" group. Im not a handgun shooting expert so these should tighten up with practice. I'll stick with the PC load and continue to practice.

“more than snappy, less than violent”

I kinda like that description- actually quite descriptive

I have loaded Longshot early one when it first came out. It was fine, but I like it better as Shotgun slug powder.
Blue Dot has always been my go to. 800x was another for top loads but its touchy. Some years back I picked up a WFN 200g mold and started seeking a 1200fps load. BD & 800x got me there. But I also tried Power Pistol. WOW... easily found a safe good shooting load running 1250 from my 6" Glock. What adhered me was a bad scale setup where it was dropping heavy and I was working up & testing the Lee 175tc in 10mm. Small test quantities. Well, that first shot didn't seem heavy or sound differrent.. But the Chrono said 1475 fps!! Inspected the casing and it looked FINE! Figuring maybe a quirk... I carefully shot 3 more. Saving one to pull.
All were 1450+ and shot well. No bulge or swell and normal primer strikes. Back @ home I discovered he issue with the scale and knew the load and was grateful for the attributes of PP.
I dont tell this to suggest overloading. But knowing this mistake with 800x would have been very bad. I started using PP and left 800x for my heavy 12ga.
