Finally broke into the 10mm

I got my dies in, only loaded 15 rounds of test ammo with the MP 402-190-HP. These are the LSL lube and sized to 0.401", I've got a batch of PC'd that need sized still. These are loaded with 12.4 gr of 2400, I couldn't find any #9 in stock locally. This load should produce roughly 1175 FPS loaded at the 1.250" OAL. They feed like butter through the M&P, so we shall see how they shoot shortly.

Have been shooting the 10mm the early 90s . Currently have 3,a1911 & 2 revolvers. I Believe you will enjoy them, but be warned they can become terminal quickly!

No I'm not, I don't crimp, I only straighten out the bell. These cases measured out 0.420" where the bullet sits, and that's what I "crimp" to.
Hi,
That CAN give you feeding problems depending on the pistol.

It did not look like you were, from the pics and why I asked.

Just sayin, 40 years ago had feed problems with a custom 1911 and that was the problem and taper crimping fixed it!

I've only ever straightened the bell, on my many handguns I've never had that particular issue. I've had issues with bullet profile and OAL, but never my crimp, or lack there of.

Hi,
Taper Crimping, is just a part of reloading, the best ammo I am capable of, on my end.

I also have, first hand experience on it increasing feed reliability...

Just something to be aware of, if problems pop up.

Pic of my 10MM XD ELITE!

Good to see you are getting along with loading the 10 mm.
I can't wait to get my died so I can get started.
Really looking forward to your results with 2400 as I have not used it for anything. I have couple pounds. I have never opened.

I tried 2400 with 200 gr bullets.all i read about was 2400 was unsuitable cause of case capicity.
Well,,with my particular lot of 2400,i could acheive 1200 plus speed,,so once again public chatter, isnt always accurate.

Btw,,,theres no modern data for 10/2400,,but i found alot, going back in my older speer/lyman manuals.

Some folks aren't happy unless they are pushing at max velocity.
So I can see a distain for running out of room with 2400.
Myself, In the 10. I am just looking for a little hmph and a tight group.
So I would probably be just fine with 2400. No Polar or Brown bears, around here.

My lot of 2400,,gives every bit as high of velocities,,,and has enough room.in fact,,i beleave 2400 would be the velocity king,if ya wanted to go down that road,at least with 200gr bullet.
