Yeah, sounds like a "story" to me, too. But you are right, you never know.
It's like the local idiot who buys a new chainsaw. Salesman says, "If you work at it, you can cut 25 trees down in a day.".
Next day the guy comes back and says, "I worked my butt off all day yesterday and could only cut 15 trees."
Salesman says, "Really, let me take a look at that saw.".
He looks it over and then flicks the switch pulls the rope and it fires right up.
The idiot looks surprised and says, "What's that noise??".
