I ordered this one from Tom yesterday.

I ordered the SAECO # 315 clone from Tom at Accurate Moulds yesterday.
Plain base ( both cavities ) , 2 cav., Brass.

Now that I'm shooting my T/C Contender , Super 14, 30-30, I figured this new Accurate 175 gr. plain base ( SAECO 315 Clone ) would be a natural for me. Many of the loads I'm using right now don't really need a g/c, so I'll be saving the time, effort and expense of gas checks with this plain base mould design.

Casting with a brass , 2 Cav. should allow me to accumulate some good cast bullets , pronto quick.

Looks like something that would do well coated with BLL, and loaded as a plinker in 30-30.
Was thinking of my Model '94.

I usually lube the two lower rings with Ben's Red and then coat the entire bullet with BLL. This method has always given great accuracy and a clean bore when I'm finished shooting.

But, you're right - I need to just size them and put on a coat of BLL and shot them. I'm like you, I'm betting they would shoot just fine.

Ben,

I have a NOE, Brass, 2 Cavity, PB copy of the SAECO 315. I'll be following your results with interest.

Looking forward to your results.
I feel the itch for a new mold myself. Don't know what flavor yet though. I still would like some samples of the NOE 41 mag Keith mold before I hit the go button

Having a similar idea for the 30 calibers hereabouts, of which there are several. 2- or 4-banger (undecided), half gas checked and half plain-based.

The "tapered" drive band diameters......is this intended to help leade engagement in some fashion, and/or to enable shallower seating? Not sold on the idea, since it would make a mess in a Lyman sizer if lubing further up the drive section than maybe the 2nd groove. Please share your thoughts, one and all.

True, but throughout the years, I've found that my Lyman 45 will lube the 1st three lube rings with zero problems.
I've shot these at 1,800 and 1,900 fps with a gas check. They shoot well. I have to assume that the lube rings that are empty ( for my applications ) are inconsequential.

Interesting. I know bullet lube has come light-years' distance since the days of Loverins and Lyman Ideal, I've run #225438 to 2400 FPS with Hornady checks and C-Red. Accuracy held to 200 yards, too. I "get it" that the old idea of "some is good, so more is better" can get counter-productive, but I might need some test-firing to confirm that a check shank gap and one lube groove filled will suffice for 1800-1900 FPS. This does incentivize me toward a new mould.

You are all totally incorrigible. Just awful. :)

Used to fill all the grooves cause I just looked "Cool". Always had lube stars in abundance for bench work. However, learned over the years, that it wasn't necessary, and ceased the practice long since.

I don't think one could ask for a better "self Centering" projectile!
Can't wait to see your results

He has always gotten back to me within two business days in the dozen-odd communications we've had over the years, even when his site noted a six week backlog.

Have you paid yet? I always opt to mail a check, usually he has the mould ready before the check arrives there even if I order and mail the same day.

I paid with Pay-Pal.
He got him money immediately.

Let's hope it's not forever. I want a few more Accurate molds before he quits.
