I have to label my 45 Colts by gun. I have a Colt clone that I shoot traditional level Colt loads in and a Ruger Flattop that get heavier loads. And use same bullet for both
I can see how that would be problematic! I own only one 45 Colt at present. A Cimmeron "Evil Roy" SAA Clone.
I hope to change that in the future. I would like a lever gun and a SBH in 45 Colt as well.

I only have one .45 Colt that has a decent chamber, an Uberti 1871 open Top. The cylinder is so thin that there was no luxury of hogging out the holes to .490" like most makers do, so it's nice and tight like it should be. The other five revolvers and carbines in the stable are various iterations of way too big, but will share ammo and with only one exception chamber each other's fired brass.

A compelling argument could be made for choosing a .44 Special (or Magnum) over a .45 Colt simply for the dimensional consistency. I just happen to like the .45s more, not sure why.

I have a pair of low pressure USFA's in 45 colt, that according to Pearce are actually good for a diet of 23K pressure loads.
I don't think so personally [plus I ain't too keen on touching off 19grs of 2400 in a grip style like they have]so i keep their loads segregated and marked as such.
I have no problem their ammo getting in one of the other guns, it's the opposite I worry about.
