I'm not bragging when I share this story.
Just thought you might enjoy reading it.
Seems a lot of what we read today is so negative, news doesn't seem to be news unless someone is dying, the details of war, floods, tornadoes, etc.
This is a great story !

Many years back there was a 12 yr. old boy that I tried to help get started reloading ? He and his Dad wanted to learn, but had no money to do it with. I was on a reloading forum and asked some of my friends if they would look on their reloading bench and see if they had " duplicates " of something that they might consider donating to help the boy get started. Over a 2 month period , I received a 6 hole - Lyman turret press. Dies, bullet molds, a powder measure, lube sizers, scales, alloy to cast his bullets with, etc.
I gave him cans of powder, primers, etc.
We spent many hours at the reloading bench learning the " basics".
He and I both enjoyed it.
He learned to load .38 Specials and .308 Win. for his rifles, both using cast bullets.
He continues to reload today.
The only stipulation that I placed on all this was , at age 12, he could not reload by himself.
He had to be with me or his dad when he was reloading until his parents felt
that he had developed enough safety skills to reload by himself.
Seems he has not forgotten my efforts.
His name was Dustin.
He graduated HS 3 nights ago as Valedictorian of his class.
He received $512,000 in college scholarship funds.
He is a fine young man that deserved some help to get him through school.
He wrote this on his Facebook tonight.
Sandy , please let Ben know how much I appreciate what he has done for me. Through shooting and reloading, he gave me several great lessons in generosity and kindness, which I can't thank him enough for. There's many, many more people who have helped get me where I am, too many for me to list in one sitting, so to everyone who has had influenced me in my life, I want to say thank you.
Dustin
