Back in the 1600's every book and drama had two important goals. Make the audience / reader laugh at least twice and shed a tear twice.
Basic human emotions that need to be attended to. So do laugh alot... the other will be far too often.
Look at most successful movies... it is still the same.

Tango comes down the hallway meowing about 5 am. It sounds like he is saying, "Raoul, Raoul." His agenda is first of all to get Whiskey to jump off the bed and join him for early morning shenanigans. Then we are supposed to get up and feed them. Then about 7 am there is some serious sleeping going on.
