Can't watch dog movies anymore. X2 trapped me into Marley and me . My 2 best friends growing up as an only were dogs , big old bull headed Chip and too big for breed Unique. Wanted another weimaraner most of my life but the Rottweiler/mutts fixed that .......... Dog movies all go the same way , loyalty, unconditional love, some wonder dog thing , then they die , and I get a wet sleeve .

Watched "Eight Below" one time; never again. Have the DVD, but can't watch it.

Watched "Hachi: A Dog's Tale" one time. Can't do that again.

Once I hear the premise, I won't watch them for the first time.
Heck, I have never even seen "Old Yeller".
Nope. Not gonna happen.
No way, no how...

There are a lot of people who take the breed of their dog seriously and would get offended by it. I've had three pure bred Bassetts and a pure bred Shi-Tzu, didn't pay for any of them, just happened. Future dogs will all be rescues and I have come to prefer a "diverse" gene pool in a dog. Keeping my son's dog now, they found him and his littermates in a dumpster in N.C., half of them died of parvo, but Bear made it and bonded with my son. Probably the best dog I've ever known, and I honestly believe there is a little of every type of dog breed known to man in him.

Biscuit our dog of 7 years is a pure bred. We got her from so folks down state. They weren’t a puppy mill but a family farm and good people. We paid $600 they were asking $700 but since we drove 300 miles they cut us some slack.
We had been looking for a new dog, preferring a Boarder Collie but even half breeds were over a $1000 and even higher. We’ve had BC before and Blue Healers and a host of mutts over the years. Never paid for a dog before, rescue dogs, pound dogs but never cash money. We found Biscuit and paid the money and couldn’t be happier. Never have had a dog this in tune to us. And that is saying something.
