I had my first session this week, just put it on a card table in the yard. Defiantly have to find me a spot.
A lot of good ideas here.
PS ....Bet Rick is one of those that can go to spaghetti dinner In a white shirt, cook the sauce, serve all the guests then sit down and eat himself, and never get a spot on his shirt.

OK Mine is not pretty...It is in a small area we call the cold cellar ( No Heat) The cellar dor it to my back leading up to the Bilco doors!
One Bilco door open in the winter both open the rest of the time! Fan on table to circulate ...Fan haning in the basement door to evacuate and change air. Very tight set up but it works well

I see a lot of Ove Gloves! Best casting aid I've found. Now if only I could find a leather glove for my right hand that was stitched with cotton instead of Nylor or Polyester. I'm SO sick of getting bad burns from failed seams when cutting sprues.

The Ove Glove is one of the best things I got for use in casting. Ian suggested one and holy cow was he right. It is awesome.

Popper that Hamms box brings back a lot of memories. Dad worked their for probably 20 Years. A LOT of DENTS (companies name for bad packaging sold to employees) came through our home. Not many left.
The Hamms Co. actually encouraged its employees to drink on site after work FREE. They had a special area for employees and visitors.

Look at surplus stores for helicopter pilot Nomex gloves.

Craftsman of metals...always learning.
Very cramped space, as can be seen by the leather working tools in storage and onion sets waiting to go in the garden. To my left is the back door and the rifle is a 30-30 just waiting for the next dumb coyote to wander through.

Finely after many years a dedicated space for casting. Led lighting, range hood with 2 speed fan and light, tool boxes for my molds and related tools. With this shut down - quarantine going on I will be finely having time to do a lot of casting and getting ready for break-up to do some testing, shooting.

Ian,
That time piece was my trusty timer for making large format film exposures (8x10 & 4x5) over at least 35 years at my studio! It is a precision piece!
Been sitting idle in my Photo crash cart since the digital era....Just had to take it home ! I can time my cast per minute....and also know when enough is enough!
As to the Hamm's Hey it is cheap...and the reason it is there because It is Called the "Cold Cellar" works well for custom brews but not so much for Hamm's ( need to get it colder to be able to drink it) In the winter I mix it 50/50 with a Local mass produced IPA! That IPA is too harsh to drink by itself....and The Hamm's a bit too sweet (now that they use rice) But mixed together it matches the taste of Founders 'All Day IPA" which is great but 3x the price of my custom blend!

OK the first thing I'm seeing here is most of the casting pot look clean! Mine is covered with crud!
As for the Ove Glove Yes they are great but if you cast enough you will wear out the area between the thumb & index finger....then there is pain!
I'm on my 3rd one since 2009! But I still can use the old ones for smelting
