Yup those Sheridan 20's are good and powerful! I smacked both of those Wood chucks at about 20-25 yards head shots and anyone woulda thought it was a 22 they just started doing the death rolls. Our's is a Sheridan. Has a receiver sight on it. 8 pumps and it is "thwaped" out to 35 yards. Use 6 pumps for 25 yards and under.
Nice looking rack of pumpers you have there. I do like the wood rifles.
Last time north we got a .25 "barrel cocker" QT Sniper from Turkey. Heaviest chunk of wood I have ever owned. But sure packs a punch out to 50 yards..
Well I have no idea? All I have now is a Daisy ( Target Special) My Dad bought me when I was 11!Donyou know what kind you would be wanting?
Meaning a Pneumatic or Springer or PCP?
I like 22+ caliber for furry critters.
All three can have the umph to do the deed but some versions could be under powered.
The RWS 34 is a good candidate in a Springer. Costs should be at or just below your price range.
A PCP is gonna tax come close to your limits.
Pumpers can be under powered more then adequate. Id want 600+ fps. Sheridans (20 cal work well) Benjamins will also meet power needs.

When I was a kid, woodchucks were everywhere and hunted them twice a day. Now they’re a lot more scarce and I ‘d feel lucry to see just one in the same fields I’d see 10 in an evening. We don't really have wood chucks here (yet) though I occasionally see one. I am told we are on the edge of their range and their range is increasin, so maybe someday. I've always thought they were neat little critters and likely a lot of fun to hunt. Maybe someday I'll take a trip where there are a lot of them and find out.
If I could get 20 yards from chuck a 22 shortHP would probably do it. But 75 yards with a stiff cross wind is more the minimum for me. I don't think I've ever been that close to a live chuck! They are tough but that Sheridan is not quite 700fps and I shot thru there heads @ backyard distances 15-20 yards.

I love my 22 Mags on these critters too but shots to the noodle with these hi powered air guns is lethal.

I've noticed they're pretty wary also. I even oil the hinges on the back door.If I could get 20 yards from chuck a 22 shortHP would probably do it. But 75 yards with a stiff cross wind is more the minimum for me. I don't think I've ever been that close to a live chuck!
