I wish you all well in Texas. Practice saying "yall" and "fixin to" right now.
I don't travel much, but on one of my trips out of MN, to visit my brother in Detroit, we went to a wine tasting, and all of his East Coast friends were making fun of my Minnesota Farmer accent (long O is over pronounced, I'm told). Of course it didn't help me much, when I phonetically pronounced the French Wine region "Minervois", instead of the proper French pronunciation (Men Ev Wah) ...But that did get me some attention from the cute daughter of a French wine maker, Isabelle, I'll never forget that nameThat's funny! Like people in Pennsylvania talk so perfectly. I know someone from Rhode Island and they talked funny. No matter, I still knew what they were saying!
Yeah, my oldest works for Northrop Grumman on the same contract as me but he travels all over and is hardly ever home. He wants to settle in Texas one day as well.Mike, your oldest or your youngest, you always want to be close enough to see them as often as possible and help them when they need it. Since we moved, our oldest (he turns 40 this month) is about 5-1/2 - 6 hours away, youngest lives with us, and a 22 year old is still on the west coast finishing his BS in mechanical engineering this June. He's kind of hoping to find a job in Texas. He's been in at least 27 of the lower 48 states (most more than once) and liked Texas the most. He also took a shine to Indiana.
Don't forget that interest rates are edging up, which will put pressure on housing prices; especially those in Calif.
