Years ago I was falling timber in WA and worked with this big old boy from NC. He went back home to cut plantation pine in the winters, said there were tons of copperheads. The first guy on the job in the morning would take a small dozer and plow the pine straw between the rows from the days' cut. Could then see the snakes on the black dirt. He invited me down to work, but just had this nagging feeling it wouldn't be fun.
