I have been needing a higher volume mold for my 40's. I have a couple good 40/10mm molds. But all are 1 or 2 cav. Molds and altho they work fine it takes allot of time. I like casting so it was OK. I still like it, . But more cavities sure makes me like it more!!
I had been using the LEE 145g and liking it! But lee dont offer a 6cav. I cast so many with that first mold it loose ed up so much I needed to replace it!! I cast ALLOT from that mold!!
i tried the 175TL mold. That one just would not shoot. No matter what I tried. It feed well enough but accuracy wasn't there.
i ordered the TC mold next. This one worked better! Its a nice bullet about only complaint was shallow lube groove. But PC solved that issue!! I have used this bullet a couple years now. Never "upgrading" to the 6cav. Until now. I ordered a 6cav on special and heat cycled it last night and cast with it today. Its a winner!! Im happy for aure. I cast up some 600 in short time.
I powder coated them with some new powders. Dupont and Tiger Dry Lac. Beige and Ocre. Both powders are wonderful. Coating beautiful and flowing to cover 100% with no sticking problems. They broke free of the basket and didnt even stick to each other agressively.
I posted three videos to my Utube account showing the powders.
