Thank you for the encouragement guys! It helps with annoying projects, like this has been so far.
I got her(yep...this one's definitely a her) back together the other day. Today I made it to the range. I found over 30lbs of orphaned range Brass. Thank you leavers of the brass!
It worked out pretty well so far but, not done yet.
With the original wide hp plated loads it worked perfectly except that the last round would stop it. Seems like a single mag issue with one of the Korean 17rnd. Those are gone now & the throats been reamed. So now was the time for cast!....FINALLY
The lrbho does not work at all. Guess my last adjustment brought it back to square one, woo-hoo.
Now for the good news. It functioned with my Lee standard 9 load perfectly. I was able to get it on paper solid & move to the rifle range. After a bit of punishing this rifle in return we fired some groups. I was able to keep 10 shots in 3.5" & my guest bested me with a 10 round grouping just under 3" @ 50m.
The loads aren't made for the rifle. They were tumble lubed bullets loaded to fit 3 different 9mm handguns. So while not spectacular groups I felt good about them due to me not being great with open sights anymore, the loads being universal & for handguns, & it was a freaking beautiful day today.
Now that I can actually use cast bullets in the rifle, I'm excited to see what it can really do. I will be working up a few loads to try in this real soon.
I just checked the bore & found no leading.
On the to do list now- Adjust the lrbho for the 807th time, make test loads in the once fired brass I need to dig out, sharpen the front sight even more pointy & repaint it, & go shoot more!
