Didn't mean to imply that the house arrest is causing my wife and I to have marital problems -- we are ready to revolt to regain our freedom.
We've been married for 35-years next month, though Fate kept me from meeting her 49-years-ago.

Me too. My wife and I have been married for 48 years. If I had to be quarantined with anyone, it would be her.
We watch the same programs and movies.
I can't imagine being without her.

I am fortunate? I still go to work 5 days a week and have human contact outside of the house. I am actually impressed with how well my wife has held up since she is now working from home. Outside of me she gets very little face to face human interaction and I’m not always the most interesting person!

The cabin fever is still setting in. Our routine is in shambles. We don’t get out the same as we did in the past. So far we have found enough to keep us busy. Tomorrow will be a bit harder as the weather is expected to be for crap and that means all day indoors. Sigh.

here's a good one.
our town had their Easter egg hunt today.
if you found the gold egg you take a picture of it to the library on Monday, and they hand out a treat to the kids.
there is also a prize for finding some weird amount of eggs [50 I think]

sounds normal?
well it was a drive-by egg hunt.
you drove or walked around town looking for the eggs hanging on houses and in the windows of different shops.
many of them were eggs drawn or colored by the kids themselves, others were eggs ''hidden'' around some peoples yards.[marked with a number on their mail boxes]
the gold egg was 'hid' in the parking lot at the main park in town.
so where there's a will there's a way.

Man, I feel bad for you guys! My bride of 52 years and I have meals together. She reads outside or is in her sewing room and I'm in the shop or reloading room. We watch a movie every night on DVD. Still enjoying each other and having fun.

Ric - same here. PLUS we are also WORKING together now. I am helping her staff her group home through this. And it was our 25th Aniv, and we lost out on a Mexico trip due to all this crap. I am about done with it all!

PS: Easter Egg for me! got to surprise the wife with a special Easter basket when she got home. Wine/bath stuff/dark chocolate. She loved it. Hoped it would take the edge of all the stress she is going thru trying to keep the group home afloat thru all this crap. She is enjoying the bath stuff and wine now! Mission Accomplished!

The rough part for us is the kids, especially the 2 year old. She doesn't get to go to the weekly storytime thing at the library and interact with her peers, doesn't get to go to town to see Grannie, her other grandparents are holed up at their vacation house, and no park visits. plus the weather has been very "February" here and either misting rain, raining, or too muddy to do much outside. We piled in the Sequoia and went for a drive just to GTFO as a family for a bit, went for a country drive. At least the boy is too young to care about being cooped up.

Well, I got “The Call” from work a few days ago. I’m being called back next week. The Administrative Leave policy has changed, I had been granted leave because of my wife’s poor health. Now the only people who are granted Admin Leave must be over 65 years old or personally have a pre-existing health condition that puts them at risk. I’m grateful to have a good job with good benefits, I’m still apprehensive though. I only work with 12,000 people everyday, so what can go wrong?

So, today I cleaned out a storage room in the basement. I’ll be camping out down there for the foreseeable future. I can’t afford to get my wife sick.

It’s gonna be hardest on my kid, he’s a 13 year old autistic boy and we are real physical, lots of wrestling and horsing around. I wear a lot of different hats with him, dad, educator, exercise partner, best friend. Now that I’m going back to work I will need to keep my distance from him. If he gets it from me then his mom is bound to also.

The wife and I are pretty much home bodies. We are both still working so not too much has changed for us.

Being retired has many perks!
Yep, but don't tell me I can't go where I want and do what I want.

Had an unexpected visit from the pastor of a nearby church, yesterday afternoon. He said he was in the neighborhood and just wanted to say hi. The church has not been especially good neighbors, but that's a story for another time. Anyway, he's very upset that he can't conduct services and the other weekly gatherings.

My wife and I own our own business. We sharpen things. She works from the home and handles scheduling, communication, everything I don’t do! I sharpen. Normally we are in a different venue everyday sharpening for the customers of the store that has invited us there. Sounds weirder than it is. It actually is a great job and I truly enjoy it. March 14, our Governor put into place a stay at home order except for essential services. We actually fall under that category. But the stores have asked us not to come in. Totally understandable, we draw crowds. Tough part was we had two trips planned, one to see the Grandkids and another 10 day work visit to Chicago. Both had to be cancelled. Have not had a customer since 14 March.

Both my wife and I are in that “susceptible” area. She more than me but if either of us gets sick, it will not be good.

Today we also bowed out of an event yhat brings us a tremendous amount of enjoyment. On Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving, one of the local Churches delivers meals to anyone who asks. My wife and I usually rent a van and help out. We normally deliver 4-500 meals over several trips. This year we decided to not help. Not an easy decision as it is wonderful to help but getting this virus could end either or both of us.

Thanks for listening.

Kevin

What Marie and I miss most.......weekly desert escapes, especially this time of year with the spring flower bloom. Not going to the desert cuts DEEPLY into our shooting activities as well.

Well don't have the virus but do have poison ivy. When we had the new septic system installed there was a bunch of dirt left over from when they dug the hole for the 1000 gallon tank. So been chopping down the trash trees that grew up on the pile. One I couldn't get to so Kubota L3800 with the front end loader aka the bucket to the rescue. Dug at the base and finally at the roots. Everything goes to the burn pile. Except they have a burn ban due to the virus. My pile can probably be seen from orbit. Take care & stay safe. Frank

Well we are still obeying the rules but now that it is getting warm a lot of idiots are taking chances! A lot more cars on the roads, stores starting to get crowded and When I wen for a walk today I was the only one using a mask as I approached someone! Folks 3 up walking a breast no masks and not moving over for oncoming people!
No wonder why our county which was fine at first is starting to tick up in case numbers

I think people are getting very lax regarding the mask, gloves and social distancing that so far has proven effective.
Just yesterday a bunch of high school were protesting about their not having a huge graduation ceremony on the local TV station. Only saw one person wearing a mask. Students walking in very close proximity and no social distancing at all. I keep some masks and gloves in the truck and wear both before entering a store. I'm 73 and have pre existing conditions that make me in the at risk category. Just called my doc and they are doing tele medicine in one case and my foot doc require masks. Have about 300 cases in our parish. And the number is growing. Think they are very premature in opening businesses that have been closed as there always be people who are not wearing PPE who may asymptomatic passing on the virus. Don't know if people are getting lax, ignorance or just plain stupid about this virus. This isn't like a common cold that lasts a week or so. This virus kills and isn't going away anytime soon. And our food chain supply is definitely at risk. When they start closing meat processing plants due to sick workers, farmers having to kill off excess live stock, and farmers who cannot get their goods to market, all do to the virus. Frank

I think people are getting lax because they are reporting so may asymptomatic cases and people just think, I'll get it and it will be nothing.

Saw the videos in NY regrading Elmhurst hospital which was near where I worked. Not a pretty sight as I had on a occasion to take injured workers to the ER. You see the huge throngs of people walking together and no PPE. That and those morons from college and universities all going on their spring break. I don't need a college education to do social distancing and to wear gloves and masks. And they get exposed and bring it home with them. Frank
