Want PTO and bennies? Join a union and support it. Cindy was salary, all the benefits went down the road, except pension. I was UAW hourly for a little over 36 years. We wouldn't have health care if I wasn't union. I retired with full benefits when I was 58 years old.............could have retired at 51 but I waited till Cindy was closer to eligibility. Been getting my monies worth for last 11 years.

My retirement was based solely on total hours worked in the industry and couldn't retire until age 62 at the earliest. I bailed out a couple of months early and had to wait for the pension. Come September it will be 10 years already. 365 days in a year so 3,650 Saturdays and counting. :)

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
I'm sure this will probably end up being considered another verboten subject to discuss, but I have little use for unions and those who blindly support them. Collective bargaining on behalf of the workers is one thing. Unions as we know them in the US today are just corrupt big business of their own and almost all are in the bag for or are owned by politicians. We had a fine union for short period, just 2 or 3 years, and then the power and money corrupted the people in charge and suddenly they needed BMW's and to attend "conferences" in Vegas and Miami. I've never seen it fail- ever.

Just got a line on some roofing. Hope it pans out. Got most of another line fence done yesterday. Gotta say, that Milwaukee concrete bit is holding up well.

The politicians are owned by the unions.
Two unions control Sacramento.

I was a self-bargainer for 35 years.

My wife worked for Ma Bell, but despised the power hungry shop reps. Early on she became wise to their behind the scenes shenanigans and petty clique of favored worker bees.

Tried golf once, I was about 14 or so. One of the most painfully boring days of my life. I did however find a perfectly good use for golf balls, they make great targets on the 100 yard line for open sighted handguns. :)

Tried golf with Dad. He said it probably wasn't my 'sport'. I agreed. Only gy I knew who could walk 9 holes with bone-on-bone knees.

Golf:

There are 25 courses within a 25 mile radius of my house.
Played three time too many -- once in high school, once with my father (an avid duffer and fan), and once as part of a bachelor party.
Only thing more boring than playing it, would be watching it in person or on television.
I know many golfers and never once have I heard them say they had an excellent round.
Every year it's the AT&T (old Bing Crosby Pro-Am and clam bake), every few years the Open arrives and our roads and streets become parking lots.
Ruger Blackhawk golf is fun!

Because I'd hit them so seldom they's last forever.:):(

Never tried golf till I was 43 years old. Since I was no longer on the farm and had a town job I had some time to myself once in awhile. Had a couple guys at work talk me into playing in their league, it was an eye opener. i was pretty long, but WILD. Once won the long drive hole in a cancer tourney with 347 yards. At 68 I still hit occasional 280-290 yard drives. Been fight shanks lately, a real pain!!

Pump Belt on my Bad Boy CZT Elite 60" zero turn mower stretched too much lately, out of adjustment. Bought a new one and started changing it out this afternoon. Holy cow what a mess. The pulleys on the pumps were so close to the underside of the frame I had to drop the transaxles to allow the belt to pass over them. Had to take off the clutch and pulley for the deck belt. Got everything back together and with the new belt I was still out of adjustment by the time I got the .020-.030 gap in the spring coils they called for.
