Got word this morning the armored prairie dogs are back, so went over to do some plinking. I clearly need to practice more with the 44 Special, only hit 9 of 20 at 150 yards. Best guess was that the 32-20 was going to take at least 24" of holdover, but I need more practice to know the sight picture instead of just guessing. Got 4 of 20, but no knockdowns. A couple of friends are starting to refer to it as the "32 Atomic" due to the muzzle blast.
Despite shooting silhouette loads in the short barrel, the old 357 Blackhawk hit 14 of 20. After the first shot, folks did stop complaining about the noise of the .32.
As expected, the guy with the .357 Herrett cleaned up, I think he missed only 2 shots in 50. With any luck, we'll have a couple more good Spring days for this before the grass gets too tall to see the silhouettes.
