Was supposed to rain today so did not much but mess with the vehicles. Fluid- safety checks, air in tires, changed a couple blown fuses, fixed a rubbed wire that caused one blown fuse. Tossed a phone charger in the other vehicle that caused the other fuse to blow. Changed that fuse again.
Replaced a chunk of vaccume line. 1turn signal bulb. Had to be in the rear of the Escape, so pain on the butt.
Pressure washed both of them, vacuumed the floors. Rain ex on all windows. Changed oil in the F250. Sprayed used oil in the Escapes rear wheel wells, and select areas under the F250.
Took both to top the gas off in all tanks so it is $4.75 now. Plus I had a 6 cent off per gallon credit on 20 Gallon of it. Still did 35 Gallon between both vehicles
Yesterday, went and got a new paneling- plywood, blade for the circular saw. A couple spare screw bits, and 2 gallons of Glidden indoor outdoor semi gloss. Could have just got 5 gallon of flat red barn paint for half the cost of 2 Gallon of the Glidden stuff .... But had to get it in the wife's favorite shade of blue in her preferred semi gloss. To match the future paint job on the Trailer. Ye hmmm.

Did manage to cut all my , right and left, siding boards for the barn yesterday to height, Then paint them on the edges, and around the back edge, about a foot wide stripe. Stacked those in side the "tent shed" to keep them dry.
Going to be sunny all week and supposed to rain off and on, all next weekend. So figure take an hour a day and put one or two up every day before work. Paint as I go.
Then next weekend I can work under the lean too a bit, cut the front lower siding to fit, paint the edges of those and maybe work on building the door. least that is a plan.

i done some stuff it wasn't much since i slept in till about 8am.
raised a sprinkler head, think i gotta do another one but of course only got the stuff to do one of them.
cut the broccoli spears out done sumthin else, watched the end of the men's/women's golf dramas.
[man,, people really fall apart under stress, watched it happen 3 times today]
put in the last of the replacement plants before watering everything, i'll give the egg plants another week before thinking about putting a few in the dirt.

tomorrow the spinach is getting stripped out.
i might leave the french ones in and let them grow the 4-5 feet they usually get, probably not though i'll most likely strip the whole box out and pull the broccoli plants and start the spinach over there, and put in some carrot seeds,,, then i can rotate some Brassica's in next year.

Parked the motorhome in front of the house, yesterday afternoon, washed it and waxed the metal cab, sorted through all the stuff that's kept permanently stashed in the interior and exterior storage areas, and loaded some stuff. My wife filled her wardrobe with clothes enough for two days, but where she's going to put five more days of clothes remains to be seen. Wherever it is, I can guarantee she'll wear only half of them. (We go on a week-long road trip all my stuff goes in a gym-size duffle bag, including the ditty bag. She needs two suitcases, a cosmetics case, and a pillow.)

The interior lights use 1147 bulbs, and I ordered soft white (3000 to 3500 range) LEDs to try. I'm skeptical about their illumination level -- don't want it so bright sunglasses are required -- but those tail/parking bulbs do get hot. Jeff has an excellent return policy ;).
Sounds like she packs light!

Sounds like a good day. On the Escape, much as I love them, they seem designed to trap sand and moisture. Do the rear wheel wells real good, also the front frame that sits under the engine and beware of the shield that covers the left side of the transmission/transaxle inboard of the left tire. Sand will gather there and rot out the back side of the transaxle itself. I think the Escape is one of those rigs that would really benefit from every owner having access to a lift and high pressure air!

Snakeoil, I am 80 years old.
That is how I know about the Gabor sisters and Imelda Marcos.
And know you are old farts.
I read the last Gabor sisters obit, the headline was "Zsa Zsa Gabor dies, famous for being famous"!!! Whatever floats yer boat.

Aren't we all old farts? I mean, who else would make their own bullets when you can buy them ready made in loaded ammo, right?!! ;)

Much cooler today, thankfully. I have a lot of outside work to do.

I just want to make a note of my thanks to my wife and daughter, I guess so I'll remember it if I ever re-read this. They are taking care of the pups and older dogs like it's their lifes work. Up with them at 4AM (both teachers so that's about normal) and caring for them all day. I play with the pups and that's about all I have to do as far as that goes. Pretty good deal for me!

Went to the ranch Sat for daughter's BD. Son and his kids came down too All had a good time shooting bows and riding the 4 wheeler, even Son with bad knee. Sunday her Aussie dog appeared to have a heat stroke, Got him cooled down some and to the vet. Vet said he had a tumor and internal bleeding, so they had to put him down. Stinks.

Glaciers

Alaska Land of the Midnight Sun
Smokey for the past week. There is 3 substantial fires with in a 100 mile circle with one just over the northwestern mountain about 10 miles as the crow flies.
Yesterday was pretty good as the breeze kept the smoke away until dinner time. Another big fire is out at St Mary’s on the Yukon Delta, which has created smokey conditions on and off since early June.
There are currently hundreds of fires burning in the state most are away from any populated areas and let to burn.

Did not get nothin' done work wise, today.
Called DMV testing station, they actually had some cancelations and we got scheduled in for the kids driving test. So took the long drive down there.
He passed, so off to the DMV next door for a pick, and to order his DL card from the State. He got the Temporary Paper, Drives Licence, and a punch out in his learners permit, till the license ID card comes in the mail.
Then to another town, paid to get him put on the cars as a licensed driver, since he was excluded as soon as the licence went thru. Literally doubled my insurance payment. Then went looking at a few cars.
He is happy.
Just grumpy about me making him pose for a pick .His old man don't like being in the lense of a camera either. Definitely my boy.
Now just to get him a hair cut.IMG_20220627_111744490~2.jpg
Having a piece of peanut butter cream pie to celebrate.
Then nap time for me before work.

Now just to get him a hair cut. Got a couple mop-head GKs myself. Appears to be current style. I'd try but would have a shiny spot on top.

Mitty...teach him right. Teach him how to drive, how to shoot, how to hunt and when you get old he can drive you out to your favorite hunting spot then circle the hill and drive a buck to you. Be right with him as it will pay big dividends. He will get his hair cut in due time.

Good job Emmitt!!

Was a rain day here. I spent the day in the Reloading room!!

I rebuilt a Crosman 2200 Magnum.

Then I loaded 50 38 Supers with a Saeco 383 and AA#7 powder.

Then a box of 357 Mags with Blue Dot powder and another Saeco 353 bullet.

Lastly 20 450 Bush Master using Enforcer powder and a 225g FTX bullet.

Dang! There isn't a much more lovable dog than an aussie.

This morning when going over last evenings new posting. I looked out side and saw 2 Black bear cubs playing around. I watched for a few seconds and saw the third cub. Then here comes Momma. I ran to get my better half out of bed. She really doesn't like to be disturbed before 8. But I figured this was important enough.
The wife got a couple of good pictures of Mamma closely inspecting our 500 gal. Propane tank. From above.
Momma was a little on the small side for being an adult, and the cubs weren't much over 16" long
What a way to start a cloudless cool morning.
