A real eye opener. Not for me, had one in the eye doc chair - sight blacked out for a short while (reason I went to eye doc). Had one about 2 weeks earlier. Left eye blinked out for a few minutes. Had the window shade thing that got my carotid cleaned about a yr earlier. Yup concussion is strange. Got rear-ended by an F450 pulling a long trailer. Couldn't read the guy license plate. Went away OK but whiplash made me go see the Chirodoc. Wake up in the morning, no doc apts today, FINE day.

Had a nuke stress test last Thursday. Aced it. Talked to the heart doc this morning and he said to see him in two years. Cool, man! Very cool!

I see a local V. A. contract doc Wednesday (saves traveling to Palo Alto), to determine if the ischemic blockage and hypertension are results of expose to Agent Orange. Been a long time getting to this point, but government moves slower than glaciers when it comes to taking care of its veterans.

nuke stress test there are 2 kinds. One is on the treadmill, other is chemically induced stress test that dilates blood vessels. If you can do the first, it is best. Passing is just OK, but if you think you did real good, that is great. Checks out the heart but no much else.

Treadmill with nuke IV injection. Heart rate was 91% of anticipated. No anomalies. My anticipated heart rate has never be reached, even on the 12-minute 12% grade treadmill. That the doc suggested not seeing him till February '25 goes a very long way in eliminating any of my wife's and my current concerns. I must be doing something right.

Last one of those I took was a breeze. But two & three times ago I thought I had another heart attack!! I was out of work for over a week!!!! I TOLD MY CARDIO NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! Before the last, we had a long talk he showed me xhanges in med & assured me this would be nothing like last. He was correct it was fine. Im glad as I unable to do a normal test.

Glad yours went well too!

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Unbelievably, I spent a good 8 hours outside working yesterday!!! Yes, most of it as steering wheel work on a skid steer, but it's the first productive day I've had in a long, long time! Hoping to do the same today! Of course next Monday I'll get another dose of poison and be sick for another week, but if I can look forward to some good days it sure helps the attitude!

Enjoying coffee this morning as I catch up on a couple of forums.

Just got back from a trip into South Dakota. Spent a couple of days with my grandson and his GF who are on their way from Georgia to Seattle, to put the vehicles on the barge and then fly to Alaska. He was born and raised there but it will be a new adventure for her - she’s visited but never lived there.

We took them to Mount Rushmore, an always impressive experience. Then Custer State Park. Neither had previously seen bison, pronghorn, burros, bighorn sheep, elk, deer, and prairie dogs. Then the air museum outside Ellsworth AFB. Unfortunately the inside displays were closed, but got to walk around the aircraft outside.

After they left on the next leg of their journey we had a great visit with a recently retired friend who has lived in the Rapid City area for over 30 years.

Now to catch up on some chores around the hacienda.

And impatiently waiting for a nice 40 degree day for a range trip ;)

Weirdest stress test I ever had was the induced one, then go eat the fattest meal you can, repeat. Had something to do with digestive effect on circulation. Forgot the diff between affect and effect?
Daughter said her rum didn't taste to good so it gets used in vanilla extract.

I tweaked my back again this AM. Wife collapsed on me doing transfer to toilet. We do in such a way almost zero chance she could be hurt. But no the case for helper.
I felt it "go" last Tuesday when I was also doing transfer into vehicle and she again collapsed. Therapy girl for knee has been helping. So I sit here after getting wife's breakfast and medications with my coffee, ice on knee and heat on lower back. Watching a History Channel on giants with double row of teeth!
My lead pot is warming for Josh's heavy 35's.

Need to drop a package @ UPS for return and then do some grocery shopping before dinner. (No therapy today)

Nothin done the last two days.
Got that tooth pulled. Yesterday. Kinda put me sideway for a bit.
Shoot, a year ago I would have taken it a lot better.
Oh well a couple lazy days I guess ain't going to hurt nothing.
Could be worse. At least it is out of there.
Thank God I finally got that thing out of my mouth.

@CWLONGSHOT Praying you get some help, To take the pressure off you a bit.

did some tweaks on one of my shot shell presses.
it'll have to wait till i actually run some shells through it for real to do the final quarter turn stuff.

got another 18 count planter pack of soil ready to go today, i'll temp it tomorrow and see if the top row is warm enough to start anything.
if not i'll slide some artichoke plants up and move it down,,, probably more broccoli, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower this time and then move on to other stuff in another couple of weeks.

wife went in and got some kind of heart monitor installed last night.
maybe this time she'll listen?
i guess if not i'll drop some cash on a life insurance policy and play the odds.

The prairie will be burned a week from today weather permitting. Saw a number of smoke plumes in the area today. Our DNR has a bunch of sites they burn.

I worked on cutting the grasses away from wooden posts supporting a blue bird house, the 160, 350, and 440 yard rails. Pulled the Geezer Wagon out of the edge of the prairie and moved it to a safe location.

Took a drive to a local effigy mound area to see how their prairie burn looked post burn. I hope ours goes as well. My wife is leaving the Grand Canyon tonight for the return train trip home. I told her the burn was scheduled for next Tuesday and she was sorely disappointed as she was scheduled to work the entire day at the polls. The other person who can perform her duties has a husband on the town board and is standing for reelection so she cannot work. I called our township election official and asked if that was the case even thought the husband of the poll worker is running unopposed. Well after some phone calls and consultation at the County level my wife will get to come home in time to see her prairie burn.

Cast more pencil sinkers, organizing tackle boxes, eagerly awaiting my new boat.

Spent another 5-6 hours outside working yesterday. It's all puttering stuff. Cleaned the battery connections on an old tractor (they're ALL old!!!) and it starts now. Sure get winded easy, but at least I'm moving.

Neighbor Earl bought a Ford 851 tractor over the weekend. He's having a heck of a time getting it going. The previous owner "timed it" and I'm sure it's way, way off. He also lost the original screw that holds the condenser to the points plate and has an over sized screw stuck in there. I'm confident the screw head is way too fat and is interfering with the cap sitting down correctly. All little stuff that's hard for Earl to do, not real easy for me either. I'll see if I can help though.

Yesterday, I started and finished my taxes...a 4 hour marathon with a long phone call.
It would be 15 minutes for my simple returns, except for a disaster related premature withdrawal from my IRA that I did 3 years ago, that I split up paying taxes on, over 3 different years. Now that wouldn't necessarily make it difficult, except for the State of MN law regarding that, is not conforming to Fed Law, which also effects my real estate tax refund, unless I get it right? well last year it effected that. We will see about this year, later on this summer when MN makes it's website for real estate tax refund available...you just can never know about these things for sure.

spent about 15 minutes scraping the wrapper off a lighter today, the body is solid black and i still can't see how much fluid is inside it.

spent another hour or so watching a magpie build a nest, it started yesterday.
lots of sticks piled up for the nest, and a little arch type roof over the top.
then it left, and hasn't been back all day.... maybe looking for someone to come inspect it?
or the 20 mph. wind was too much?
