OMGoodness...... remember the first time you shot a really nice scoped .22 bolt gun? Hits whatever the crosshair is on. That's today shooting the 37g Varget/Lee150 '06 load. But on a much more, pro class heavy duty sense. About the nicest beer can rig I've ever shot. If you can't put it in the drink hole @100,it ain't the load. Got the recoil down from the other day(yesterday?) through, just plain technique. It's got an old Cobra style sling, probably late 70's. Anyway, the inside is suede.... this is what the rig rides on when thrown down on a bulls bag. Gotta get the front swivel to form a linkage.... but basically just line the forend straight up on the sling. And then just jerk the trigger, haha. 5 shot groups hold together from a barrel heat standpoint,no issues.....10 would stretch it a bit though. 5,and its pretty durn warm. The recoil pulse is stout if you aren't lined up and "into" it. But fun as all get out on the accuracy.

I don't have to deal with sales staff. I go to any GM dealership, order the vehicle of choice. Wait till it comes in. GM sets the price, no haggling with dealer. When it comes in, they can't sell it to anyone else.............I already have the VIN# from GM.

Bought the wife a 2016 Colorado. Most recent body change, was in 2015.......................the dealers had a hard time getting them and they were going for retail. Not in my case...............took about six weeks to arrive. Got my 18% discount, too.

Kent Chevrolet is the dealership in Mountain Home. Have nothing but good things to say about them. Totally different then the Detroit area dealerships, I'm use to.

Now you can get car insurance, at reasonable rates..............I cut mine in half, as soon as I could prove I didn't live in Detroit, anymore.

Cut my car insurance far more than in half. I can pay for 1 year auto insurance, 1 year property tax and about 6 months of property insurance for less than the auto insurance alone was in CA. And that was with a perfect driving record and a 12 year old car.

Got Mom's new plates on her truck. Went through a few boxes in the future reloading area of the basement. Found 45 ACP and 38 SPL cartridges. Been keeping just two handguns loaded around the place; now we have 3 more.

Need to purchase archery target materials so the younger man of the house can practice. Lord knows we have room for that now.
I know we have a number of accomplished archers here. Have any recommendations for economical or DIY archery targets?

Wow, someone was an overachiever! A lot of us in the profession call that the "Check Money Light".

Some kind of stomach/bowel ailment hit me last midnight and we had to cancel Bryce Canyon. We’ve extended our stay, in Kanab, but I plan on resting tomorrow, too, then start our two-day trip home on Sunday.
Kudos to the local Best Western motel for accommodating us for another night, and changing our Barstow reservation.

Welcome back home RCMaverick!

Hope it's just a 24-hour bug, Michael, that's a "bummer" to quote Rick.

Yessir--welcome back!

Doing some of the same stuff myself--blending some garage clean-up (LOTS of stuff had to get moved for the house re-piping) with reloading bench rehab and re-arrangement. I scored some more powders for the 22 Hornet (H-110 and Lil Gun) and have 2400 already on hand. I think there is some IMR 4227 and AA-1680 for secondary tries if these other three don't work out. 2400 may not provide the highest possible velocity, but it has been consistent and accurate with both castings and j-words. It is hard to fault such results. No gnarly rat or song dog will discern the difference between 2500 FPS and 2800 FPS starting speed. If I do my part, they will be done discerning much of anything.

didn't 2400 get it's name by making the little 22 hornet go 2400 fps?

got some snow last night and a little more this afternoon.
we hit the mountain right in time for the in-between storms part, where the second little bit was spitting out some pretty good flakes at about 7500' and up.
we finally seen a Buck and Littlegirl made a real nice shot taking out both lungs after punching the back portion of the on side shoulder and exiting the ribs, considering how steep uphill angle was I don't think you could have asked for anything better.
I had a good shot at the neck from where I was, but watched her shoot it instead.
the drag down the hill was pretty easy since it was mostly kick and watch it go then try to not fall down as we made our way down to where it was to roll it around that bush and let it go again.

we had Grandma and Barrett with us but he had fallen asleep so we left them in the truck which worked out pretty good since we could call for the truck to come meet us at the road.
pretty good I say,, since G-ma can't drive the truck too good and got stuck about 100yds. down the road and I had to walk down and get it out of the mud/snow she was stuck in.
apparently she doesn't know how the 4wd. works in the truck.

I think that is how the powder got its name initially, Lamar. It did GREAT work with castings at just about 2400 FPS in a couple Hornets, 9.0 grains under Lyman #225438 @ .225" sizing and Carnauba Red.

The H-110 and Lil Gun provide the highest velocities with the 30 grain Hornet Condor Cuddlers--on the order of 3200-3300 FPS. How accurately those loads shoot remains the question. Barnes does not show 2400 as a fuel in the Hornet, though I see no reason not to try it with a cautious approach. I'll stay By The Book at first, most of these all-copper rat smackers are terra incognita for me.

Congrats to LG on the buck harvest. I like the downhill drag-out A LOT.
