At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
Got 95% of the insulation back where it's supposed to be and the new lights hung. I'm going to have to see what I can find in the way of inexpensive material suitable for a ceiling. Sheetrock is out, so is metal. Have to look around.

Rain/snow mix coming down sideways in a 20-30mph breeze and the boys are hunting! Better them than me.

Just wanted to close the loop on our free Thanksgiving dinner from my Dr. My kid and his spouse are half arsed vegans, they will eat fish and seafood but not turkey, etc. so cooking a 12 pound turkey for Thanksgiving would leave a lot of leftovers. The couple across the street are older than my wife and I, she has a bit of dementia and has had an above knee amputation. She never adapted to a prosthetic and thus is wheelchair bound. He has a small pension and they get Social Security but they are not by any means wealthy. I feel blessed to be healthy and able to work, so this morning I went over and asked Mr T if they would like a free Thanksgiving dinner. They were very grateful, and now he doesn't have to push his wife up to the neighborhood grocery store and push her home in her wheelchair with a lap full of groceries.

I'm not religious but I do believe that to whom much is given much is required. Believe that is in the book somewhere.

Keith,
I guess I could easily replace a Thanksgiving Bird for a Good fish dinner!
However I doubt the rest of my family would agree!
When I was young I never even tasted a turkey! My folks would have a chicken or meatloaf or what ever the pocket book dictated!
I think when I was 9 years old we went to my aunts house and had a real turkey! I was all excited upon going, but afterword it was just a symbol of the holiday! I wasn't impressed at that early age!
I think I enjoyed being home with my Mom and Dad and them making what ever we could afford! My Brothers were married then and they spent the holiday with their in-laws! The only time our whole family was together was for Christmas Eve!

Doing the right thing is more about upbringing than religion. Your mother would be proud.

We are having a smoked brisket again this year. The non traditional meal was better met by Paul than I expected last year.

Brad,
I know Paul likes to experiment Like I Do!
I'm up for anything that doesn't kill me quickly! We share recipes all the time! Got him hooked on my wife's Polish recipies!

Just got back from a trip to town. Visited my money at the bank: both dollars.
Local farm supply place; bought a pretty, new Stihl chainsaw. Like a dumb a$$, forgot the chain oil. They were pretty swell though; gave me $60.00 off.
Walton's place: supplies, frozen Butterball, butter, yams, wine (yep! me too), and more.

I think it was pretty and new.

I didn't do diddly today, watched the Utah high school state championships in foot ball.

I'm usually in charge of doing the Turkey, and I try to do something different every year.
sometimes it works out great,,, sometimes meh but still turkey.
I also get to do the sweet potatoes I usually do a sweet/hot mix with brown sugar, marshmallow, and chilies.
it's kind of funny to watch everyone eat them like they are eating Thai food.

You had it right Smokey, Rick was indeed jerking you around. You said " bought a pretty, new Stihl chainsaw."; if you were describing a pretty new Stihl chainsaw (as in almost new) there wouldn't have been a comma between pretty and new.

I remember listening to a guy at a social event some years ago that said that the day he left his chainsaw in the back of his pickup and it got stolen was the best day of his life. Whatever brand it was, I don't remember, but apparently you couldn't get parts for it and it was very hard to start. He didn't even turn in the loss to insurance or file a police report. He figured the thief would work harder and suffer more with the cranky POS than he would in lockup!
