Last night, I learned there was a gunshow in Askov, MN this weekend. A 6 hour drive round trip from Glencoe. I was jazzed about going last night. Today when I got up at 5am, thinking I'd leave at 6am, so I could arrive at opening hour...I just didn't have the gumption to get going. Now, hours later, after a couple cups of coffee, I wish I went...but showing up in the afternoon, after all the good deals are gone, just ain't worth 6 hours of driving.

So, I guess I stay home on this frigid, below Zero day. I hope to continue on cleaning/declutering the entryway for the Lathe desk ...and thinking about dust containment and dust collection?

think about it like this Jon.
they opened today with what they have leftover from last Sunday so someone last Saturday already got the good stuff.

fiver, that is likely true with the gunshows in major cities ...there is one in Fridley, MN (Mpls suburb) this weekend, the big vendors who do the circuit most weekends will be there, and few, if no private dealers, as the circuit has more strict rules of who can rent tables. BUT the small shows in rural areas, like Askov, have a lot of private dealers who do one show a year...but, there will be circuit vendors there too.

Kevin, my prayers are with your granddaughter and your greats. That is sadly all too common these days. I sat on a jury last year in a case of very very similar circumstances. Because of the “liberal” views of about 1/3 of the jury, we were unable to convict on all (the more severe) counts. He will go away for 12-15 years, but IMO should be much longer.

Kevin,
Many of us who have daughters have been thru the same ordeal.
My daughter was with a scumbag (Eddie Haskell type) for 9 years and was controlled and terrified of him.
Not much you can do when he plays the victim card to win her back. I knew whatever I did to try to dissuade him, she would pay dearly for later.
He finally threw a big enough fit and physically abused her so bad that she came home and allowed me to stand between him and her.
It took six months for him to give up and go away.
For years I blamed myself for not doing enough, until we finally haad a long talk and she told me that I couldn't have helped until she was ready to accept it.
She's 41 now and been away from him for 10 years. She's married to a big ex marine that truly loves her, so I sleep a little better at night, knowing that.
The only thing you can do is be strong for her. She will need it.

You have a good start.:headbang:

That being said this is my current google search “Lyman 311467”. I’ve got the itch!

Good luck! I’m sure that those will all go to good homes. Your prices are more than reasonable!

Josh,
That 311467 is a shooter. I have a 2 cavity Lyman one cavity is HP'd! The solids shoot Very good and the HP ones are really accurate!
If you are using traditional lube you need only to lube the lower half of the bullet ( it can carry too much lube)

We I was able to get to the range this morning.... At my house it was 27 deg no winds and clear skies! After a 10 minute trip to our range which is just up the mountain from me....totally different world!
Temp was 20 deg with about 15 mph winds ( of course cross wise from the right and gusts were at least 25 to 30 mph! Uggh!
But My buddy Ed and I decided to give it a try since we were only shooting 50 yards!
He was shooting a .222 Rem Mag with jacketed about a medium load. But I had my .243 Win shooting the big 105 NOE cast at about 970 fps!
Not a good wind combination. Last time I was out with this load we had wind but I could read it to make my shots and got one of my best target ever with this load combo. But today was different having to wait about 2 or 3 minutes between shots to try to get a lull in the winds.
Only shot 2 ten shot groups and started the third, but Ed was already packing it in ( windchill was just too painful for old dudes!) I shot the last target with only 5 shots because going home sounded pretty good!
Normally I do not see any yaw in that long bullet moving so slow but today the wind was not kind to it!
While still relatively accurate every hole showed signs of the bullet tipping slightly before impact!

Over coffee this morning I’ve been looking at the Saeco 315 and this design, the Lyman 311467.

But, I already have my Ranch Dog TL311-165-RF that I have barely started working with. I already have too many projects, with not enough range time too test what I load.

The 311467 would be a little too pointy for my Marlin 336.

And I just noticed another mold that I’d forgotten I own, so eleven.

If the 311467 was a flat point I’d be all over it.

It looks like Ben has a hollow point pin that turns his 311467 into something similar to a 311407. But, modifying molds for hollow point pins will be after I’ve bought a four jaw and feel real confident that the machining evolution will be successful.

Quick, somebody buy this mold before I get all weak and wobbly in the knees.

Josh,
I have used the 311467 with my 336 Marlin , but since I only shoot target I load single shot! It shot very well!

Somebody hit my property last nigh, and our drive While I was working. Just noticed when I got up a little bit ago.
Scrap stealers. Stole anything metal laying out side. From my neighbors. I only have 2 on our drive and they were both away last night, at 3am.
My son had left our skirting open where you could see under. So they found that stuff too.
My wife and kid heard them. Dog barked a lot about 3am, but they thought it was after a cat in the floor or something.
Got my son's bike, mower parts, and my copper stash, this is where I also keep my unprocessed lead stash. So ....20 lbs of Roto Lino Type, 10 lbs of Super hard, And my 5 lb bag of chilled shot.
Plus about another 20 lbs in soft lead I had not processed yet.
So I guess I won't be casting much for my .223, as I ony have about 25 lbs of finished rifle lead in the house.:( And my son won't be riding his mountain bike any more this winter.
Well cops are pulling up so going out to make a report.

Mitty - sorry to hear/Wish you had caught them! The $2500 in tolls we had stolen really ticked me off.

I had a FANTASTIC day! AL now has 2 combined Youth/Veterans day waterfowl hunts each year. Today was the 2nd and THE last day of duck season. And my Son and his buddy "guided" me on the hunt. It was the best duck hunt ever for me (even tho I only killed one duck). They carried in all the gear, set the decoys, Son played bird dog and retrieved the duck that had glided a LONG way. All I had to do was get up, go, sit and shoot. THey are the best! And, Son's buddy, about an hour in, looks over at me and says "Thank You for your Service!" I never get used to hearing that, but it sure was special this morning! Pls indulge the pics! IMG_1860.jpgIMG_1861.jpgIMG_1865.jpgIMG_1869.jpgIMG_1870.jpgIMG_1876.jpg
