Oscar--Same goes with the 31-1, but they lasted until 1982 or so. If that S&W in its present condition was in a local shop at $369, I would have bought it without haggling--installed a set of Pachmayr Compacs--and put it in my pocket. Heck, my 642-1 gets pocket-carried with my autopistols in a shoulder rig these days.

Went to the indoor range with the wife. Had to scrounge to find 100 rounds of 38 special for her.
Came home and loaded 300 rounds. Didn’t know we were that low on 38s.

need to cast some bullets for her too.

31-1 - You guys are KILLING me! I am prob gonna bite the bullet and spend more than I WANT to for it, but be happy in the end! Bob busted hammer/shoot/carry/get replacement hammer - and LOVE it, I am sure!

Had to clean the (&+(&+(^& Ruger MKII Govt this afternoon, just so I could go shoot the local Pin match (for bragging rights). Haven't cleaned in a year ( I HATE CLEANING IT, and really ANY gun!). But, took 2nd after not shooting matches for prob a year, so all good. And only lost to a newer player that puts a lot into gear/equipment. Mine is a 35 yo MKII Govt with $100 Volq parts and a scrap box red dot. Won me $500 towards a Rem 1911 Enhanced awhile back, so very happy with it!

Trading some powders and other things so I can feed all my old archaic caliber feeding habits! And perfectly happy about that!

Kid and and his buddy are gonna "guide" me on a veteran duck hunt Sat! Youth/Veteran day, and they are going to "guide" me. Thrilled!

And looking for that Winchester 1895 - the next oldie on my list! 405 Win would be nice, but a 30-40 Krag would prob be more practical and easier. AND easier on the shoulder with steel buttplate than a modern 30-06!!!

You would not believe the amount of rejects that are produced by firearms mfg. Industry.
They chop them up or mash them, then we melt them all down, send them back as ingot.
Every pound must be accounted for. Bet ya we melted what would have been $200,000 worth of receivers and receiver parts just this shift.

Post op doctors appointment today. They said no driving until March 9th and wear my collar when I’m riding in a vehicle... Means I’m off work until then too. I know it’s a critical time for me as I’m starting to think I can do more things because the pain I was experiencing is mostly gone and I feel that I can do more. Last thing I want to do though is to disrupt the piece of carbon fiber they put in my neck and have to go back into surgery again, or worse. I guess I’ll listen to them.

Take care. You would not want to mess it up, when you are this close.
Hoping you heal fast, and find yourself something to occupy your time. So you do not go stir crazy, till then.

Just dammit! I would LOVE a NS! Been looking! IF you have another one (NS) to part with, pls let me know! Thanx!
I had a 5" that was okay+ then I came across a 7 1/2" and traded an Old Model Ruger SBH for it at a local gun show. Shortly after I shot the 7 1/2" I sold the 5". The 7 1/2" shoots really nicely.

I really like the .38 w.c.f. and have a 1910 SAA and a 1910 Model 92, the 1930 NS and a Unberti Cimarron SAA clone 4 3/4". My fantasy gun would be a Remington 14 1/2 in .38-40.

Oh YEAH on the fantasy gun! I have gone the 44-40 route (Cimarron 1873 and Cimarron SA), and would love a 14 1/2 in 44-40. I do have a Mdl 14 in 35 Rem!

Had to go in to my studio for a few hours to photograph Art work for one of my old Artist clients! ( decided to keep a few of those Artist clients that get International attention!) first off because I love seeing their work and Also my photos of their work are printed in international magazines ! That is pretty exciting!

Anyway Decided this afternoon that it may be worth a range trip tomorrow morning since the weather is going to be above average!
Loaded up the same "Low Node" 234 Win Cartriges that shot so well a few weeks ago. The NOE 246-105 pointed flat nose / san gas checks and PC coated with a whopping 5.3 grains of American Select ( think Green Dot) Giving me the blazing speed of 970 fps! and they like to go in the same hole at 50 yards ;)
Let's see if I can do it again! The winds are supposed to be light ( I hope)

California's Central Coast Amid The Insanity
The Chinese flu has claimed another innocent victim: the local gun store.
Nonsensical, illogical, nonscientific, dubious, and purely stupid mandates that were issued by the soon-to-be recalled guv. Nonavailability of rifles and handguns, ammunition, and powder and primers. A one-man operation (plus one employee) who can't compete against Turner's Outdoorsman, a 30-store chain that has a store less than 20-miles away, a Bass Pro Shops location about an hour's drive North, and a Big-5 directly across the street, and the three of them are much more in favor with the various distributors for their sparse pickings.

Reckon I'll be visiting Turner's, next week, to look over their meager offerings and inquiring about the Blackhawk combination .45 Colt/.45 ACP I've been yearning for.

As most older gentleman here know. If you preach on a subject. The intended target usually doesn't listen or does the exact opposite.
One of our Grand Daughters got into a long term relation with a skumbag guy. In a 3 year relation there are 2 daughters He has tried to both kill and rape my Grand D. Arrested but not convicted yet yet. The skumbag in the bonding process has lost his Grandmothers House & Truck (skipping bail) Has now stolen his Grams only car. Cut 2 Ankle bracelets off which monitor his movements. Terrorized a new friend and mother of my Grand D. Vandalized the new friends car. An our judicial system will not lock him up.
An to this date has not payed a dime in support. But he has drained the bank account my Grand has been able to save.
