Nothin till I go to work. Temperature dropped, snowed a tiny bit. I thought winter was over for Ohio. But then again it is Ohio I live in.
Staying home, resting up ,watching an Italian western, "Nobody", and maybe a cat nap before I head in.

Don't know what it weighed , but that's a Dodge 1500 tailgate .
Son in-law arrowed it in the back yard this morning on 3/4 acre SW corner of San Antonio . They are surrounded by cotton fields and unused pasture on 3 side of suburbia .
I'm happy to say we don't have them in my neck of the woods. I did see a notice from DEC a couple years back saying something to the effect of "Shoot on sight". I've had sausage made from them and it was good. The pork I had wasn't like domestic pig IMO, not bad, just different.

"My Name is Nobody"? Terrence Hill? Great line of spaghetti westerns.

Just rebuilt a set of chicken nest boxes. I think it'll work, even if it does look a bit...rustic I guess is the right word.

Suns trying to come out and the snow is melting. Another soggy day!

He said it took 3 shots to get it down . His gear is better suited to 200# hoof weight whitetail though . I'll have to see if I can find him a 1.5" broad head .

Sausage in the butcher shop not far from them .

Right after I was typing my first post today a shooting buddy texted me that he had been cleaning out his garage and put in a propane space heater. I asked what he was doing with the round oak stove he had. He said bring 100 bucks and come get it and all of the accessories. Plus he just had a new jacket made for it two years ago. Two hour up, one hour for lunch, two hours back. Then Sue and I unloaded one trailer load of
wood and then split another. Good day after all. Never hit 40 degrees.20210323_144729.jpeg

The cross fence lattice "windows" are in. Stuff came up and I wasn't able to start till almost noon, but today's high temperature was right at the scheduled 75 and I was able to roll along without too much discomfort.

Though I'm a grizzled and proud pre-geezer*, a sneak eruption is always laying in wait.

*Don't know exactly when one is classified an official geezer, but at my age I consider it anyone who is one day older. Regardless, if one is a geezer or pre-geezer it's quite an accomplishment to have reached that stage in life, despite all the stupid things we've done and all that life has thrown at us.

Hand lining, for walleye was popular on the Detroit River. However, you'd be liable to catch anything. Including, smallmouth and sheepshead.

Being easily amused and after some conversations it was determined that 6.5 Japanese was easily formed from 243 win . It does leave long necks , and it's easier than I'd thought to swage the head .....the Big Max probably helps some .

It's also noted that the difference between the Japanese and CM is not much more than the 7-08 and 7×57 or 300 Sav/308 .

Someplace I saw a package deal for 6.5CM and this morning , while contemplating my OJ/tonic , I said to myself "self we need to snag some CM and form it to Jap anese " .......the thought quickly passed as I remembered that the Japanese PPU brass is available and cheaper than Hornady CM anyway .....

It was amusing as the irony of the 127 yr old cartridge being formed from last week's wonder cartridge that really offer no advantage other than a rifle on the line this morning ...... That and the image of the guy that picks up a case off the bench and looks at the rifle and just can't figure it out .

I get that with my fired 9.3 x 62 brass--"Izzat one of those 35 Whelens?"

My Tuesday stop at the local gunshop showed the handgun shelves to be pretty bare, though they had two new items that just arrived--a Glock 23 and a Springfield Armory Mil-Spec. I doubt that they lasted through the day, but it was nice seeing new handguns actually in stock. What WAS there is some numbers was new bolt rifles, about half of which were Bergaras. Those are NICE BOLT GUNS. About half of the Bergaras were in--you guessed it--6.5 CM.
