Smokey should post some pictures from his rear deck. If ever there was a million dollar view that's it. Can see literally miles down into the heavily wooded valley below him.

Lopping down some saplings growing up interfering with the view is a very small price to pay.
Have posted one:

"Nothin's for nothin'". We started researching our move out of Kali back in 2011. Pretty sure I even discussed it with Charles back then on that other casting website. Also picked Ian's brain almost that long ago.
After studying at least a dozen other states, we settled on AR back in Summer of 2017 when we traveled through and visited with John & Cindy and Rick. We knew what we wanted and with input from John and Rick and lots and lots and lots of study, we knew what we were getting into. Took two more years to get to a point where the move wouldn't disrupt youngest boy's academics and to find the right place. On top of all that, we got awfully lucky.

I generally use the Stag 6-H in 5.56.
I use a pretty good bunch of whatever loads in it, but it's main load is sierra J-4 match jackets punched up in a C&H die set to mimic the sierra 63gr SMH bullet. [which mimic's the 5.56 throat]
I also use a bunch of different powders AA-2230/AA2495 are the main culprits, followed super closely by H-322
I think today I grabbed a box of fc [imi contract] cases loaded with 52gr. sierras and 2495 I didn't look at the label too closely, but they were in the row where I normally keep the ammo for the Ruger bolt gun.

sometimes those little beggars get me wound up and I break out the deer rifle in 25-06 and pick them off with a 75-86gr. bullet stepping out at something like 3400 fps.
but generally I like to make things fair and give them a chance with the 223.

Just ordered some ammo from Mr. Potterfield.
Just that the .22lr coffers were getting low.
I am just not that adventurous to cast, make and load primer compound, load for .22lr.
At least not yet.
16 cents a round after tax and shipping. I cried a little bit as I hit the button. Thinking I am casting, PCing, and loading .223 at over 1850 fps, for cheaper than, or at least real close to this, currently.
But Have a feeling I will be thanking myself by the end of the summer. Happy Wife, happy life.

If people knew what chicken and fish ate, they would rethink things and go vegan or come to the conclusion, as I did, of "So what?". Birds are nasty creatures on the whole.

More snow today. Didn't sleep much last night, headed for the ER about this sinus thing. It's getting bad.

Good luck with your sinuses. If you are going to the ER it must be bad.

I've fought my sinuses my whole life . When it wasn't the ghost of Owens Lake I blamed the cottonwood bloom ......turns out it's cedar pollen and for whatever reason the berry drop .

Valley smog has been an issue off and on .

Chickens are caged bipedal garbage disposals that return a tasty breakfast item and it's nice to have them for dinner when they retire or get too mean .

Yeah meat glue is a thing , it's all beef even the hooves and lips , hammered hogs are happy hogs (where do they think the spent grains from the distillery and breweries go ). Soap is an ingredient in bulk bacon , not in itself but by components that make the core product soap . Food production is nasty , gross , disgusting , and in general just yuck . I mean seriously what makes good fertile dark earth , decomp and lots of it stem and tree fruit is fed buy it , roots and tubers are in it , meat eats it and makes it .........

To be deemed hormone/antibiotic free chicken needs only be 30 days from administration . Meat chickens are 37 days old when they hit the line , fryers , roasters etc are the mistakes that result from long weekends , deep cleaning days , and administrative hiccups , and may be up to 60 days old .

Free range means they average a 24" square per bird and they are fed from shakers .
Vegetarian diet ...... Well it's at least 90% plants but animal feed isnt as well screened as people food , and grain towers aren't what you'd call rodent or bug proof .

Severe sinus problems that made sleep almost impossible were early symptoms of some local Chinese flu contractees.

I started prepping 300 BO brass. To test with the new modified LEE mold.

FULLY PREPPED. TURNING NECKS - FLASH HOLES - everything! Just to eliminate as many variables.

New /Modified bullet is on the right and powdercoated. Boat tail is now gone. This bullet has such a short and small dia band to engage the rifling. Im hoping this changes my accuracy problems.

Got right in at the ER in our little hospital and was in a nice, warm, very quiet room almost immediately. I was there for almost an hour and got a nice nap in before the Doc came in! She agrees it's likely a sinus infection but jammed a swab into my throat through my nose, more or less, just to be sure. Got the call an hour later and I don't have the Wuhan Plague. The nice lady that handles most of our RX's at the drug store was amazed I was there for myself and not one of the kids! Hope this stuff kicks butt.

CW- boat tailed cast bullets always seemed like a poor idea to me. Hope that works for you.

Had that done twice.

Had the covid twice. Still here.
First time was a pita, followed by a 3 month getting back to normal.

2nd time around was not near as bad. Thought it was just a light cold the second time, till I lost my taste and got the feaver. Was 100% better 2 days after the feaver hit.
Only long term I am still hanging onto is my Hay feaver and perfume allergy is more sensative. I sneeze at the slightest thing.

Bet I inadvertantly exposed at least 50 people at work before I realized I had got it again.
Most of those just worked thru it.Passed on the love so to speak. LOL
Still on the waiting list for the vaccine. Really not sure if I even need it now.

Sinus. Used to be an old time thing seeing folks bent over a steaming pan with a towel hooded over their head. For a few years, I'd heat a damp hand towel in the microwave almost too hot to handle and apply to the face/forehead and hold it there with a dry one, heat up another and alternate. 5, maybe 10 min of this and the pressure would break loose. Blessed relief & get the tissues ready. THEN, I remembered the towel hood over the steaming pan. Found out they used mostly catnip and some mint leaves. You throw that in the pan with a quart of water and heat to not quite boiling. Take all the reasonable safety measures. I set that on the kitchen table, sit and approach it cautiously with a towel over your head like a hood. You can't just cover the whole shebang and get too close at the start, way too hot. But those vapors are amazing. The heat, moisture and whatever good is in those two herbs cures things in good time. Again in like 5 or 10 min. You can find catnip growing wild lots of places. I started growing it intentionally a couple years ago and dry a few paper sacks full in fall, just for the sinus relief. Think I'd try just the water alone if'n there was no catnip to be had. Maybe a drop of peppermint oil in it. I will never go back to any kind of patent medicine. God bless and feel better whatever it takes.
