This should work much better.

Sooo, which one of you is the southpaw? Must be the one who drinks Mexican tourist beer. :)

Looks pretty good to me, is all that sand on the ground native or is it leftovers from the house construction?

I'd be the southpaw....and when I do drink beer...it's Sam Adams Boston Lager....only because I can't get Canadian beer in these here parts.

That's the native soil (clay) before water hits it.

I was going to say, "Now how about a roof over that table".

No need for a roof....not shooting in inclement weather....we're retired. Get to pick and choose our days! Plus, there is the tree canopy. Bench is within 100 feet of back door and reloading bench.

Hold on there John, I thought he was volunteering to come over and build it.

Next project on the bench isn't a roof, it will be leveling the area at the sides and back of the bench and putting in pavers so that stools don't sink into the dirt.

A dollar short anyways, rather expensive summer. A new yard shed, an expensive vacation, a new stand by generator and a fancy radar chrono. Yep, definitely a dollar short now.

Yah, a roof over the table would be nice for rainy days when ya just have to shoot that test load.

Before Rick talked me into building this permanent table, we did our shooting off a portable one set up under my covered back porch......that is still an option.

Have you trained the dogs t retrieve and post targets yet? That would make the shooting far more enjoyable. They could change targets while you ate lunch.

That would be a real feat. I keep target changing down to a minimum. I hang cardboard backing on wire rope, strung between metal fence posts. Eight targets per session, with each of those targets having five aiming squares.

Be careful putting anything steel down range, Rick has a built in need to hit steel every shot.

Remind him that if it doesn't go down it counts as a miss.

If I come to your place to build that roof, you may have trouble getting rid of me. Plus, I'd have to drive so I could bring a few toys to test under the new roof. Along with toys, I'd have to bring a couple of cases of Malbec.

Good looking benches, both appropriate to the circumstances. Still waiting for time
to get my berm made, then the shooting shack will be built. Considering an indoor
bench with a window to shoot out of but may not go that far.
Lurking and learning.
