we had a baby shower BBQ thing for Littlegirl this afternoon.
I got my BIL to bring his smoker up from Utah and we cold smoked 2 Briskets for20 hours and then cooked some Burgers on it for lunch.
I got 2 thin slices of the brisket before we put it out and 0 Burgers.
I guess they were good [shrug] since everything was gone before I got any of it.
oh well,,, the burritos I made when I got home were filling.

it was okay, everybody worked hard on the food.
the SIL made little boats out of different colored bell peppers and filled them with other types of vegetables.
I wanted to grill them :) too but got shot down.
his brothers wife and Littlegirl made a cream cheese and cool whip jello mix thingy on a pretzel crust.
[which must gave been really good since it was completely gone before the kids ate the tato chips]
my Brother and his soon to be SIL brought about 50 different flavored Beers for everyone to try.
[the peanut butter one was not a hit]
the wife made a passable macaroni salad [she wouldn't use my recipe using pickled eggs and pickled onions]
and there was some other stuff here and there scattered about.

I mostly missed lunch since I was out looking at an inline muzzle loader and an older T/C pistol my buddy brought up with him hoping we could go shoot them.
I did get his scope set so he could see through it clearly though.

Well Not exactly for Supper: but I'm smoking some of my late harvest Urfa Bieber and Aleppo Chilis today.
Fantastic aroma!

JW that looks fantastic! We grow and enjoy peppers here although it is not pepper country, we grow them in 40' plastic-covered low tunnels. You had mentioned Allepo peppers somewhere much earlier so I sent off for a packet of seed and will grow next year. I'm grilling some Capperino peppers for supper, a cherry type not real hot but with rich red pepper flavor.

I just got in from cutting up the Deer and Dinner at Littlegirls place.
we had an Elk heart I got from a buddy here in town.
I had her stuff it with Bacon,Onions, and some Garlic then put it in the slow cooker for about 4 hours with some Beef broth.
it made an excellent base for some stew tomorrow or just a soup as is.
I ladled a bit of it over the heart, and thought about just having a bowl of that for Dinner.

Scratch made pizza crust. Romano and Parmesan cheese covered with basil, tomat, and mozzerella. Simple but the taste is outstanding.
Grilled on the pellet grill, 500° for 7 min. Crust has a bit of crunch but great chew.

Come on, Brad, heart is good. And it is a muscle, which is meat.

I've been told.

I at least bring them back for my friends.

As for the liver, guts stay in the gut pile!

A layer of finely grated Romano cheese, a layer of finely grated Parmesan cheese, slices of Roma tomatoes, and some fresh basil leaves. Top with chunks cut from a ball of mozzarella.

it actually looks pretty tasty.
if it happened to have some Bacon accidentally cooked on top of the tomato it would taste even better.

Well after 23 years my old grill crapped out ( bottom rotted out!)
Got it from a Client I did did a shoot for in 1996. He told me to trash it & I asked if I could have it!

Gee, you should think about getting into photography as a profession......

Beautiful pix, JW. And yummy looking food, too. Webers are good stuff. The
bottom grill needs to be replaced every decade or so.

The cat looks like it sees something interesting.
As far as what I grill. Burgers, chicken breasts, pork chops, steaks (KC strip mostly)
and some corn on the cob. Used to rotisserie whole chickens, which are really good,
but local Sam's Club, about 1 mile away does really nice ones for LESS THAN WE
CAN BUY THE CHICKEN.....:rolleyes:that put the rotisserie thing away.

Yeah, my wife gets the whole baked chicken at Sam's for $5, we eat two meals off of it and then the wife strips off the rest of the meat and makes soup or similar from the rest. A great bargain.

Sounds like our wives have a lot in common, Keith. Amazingly for a giant box store
operation, they do the chickens really well. I am pretty sure that they are rotisserie
roasted, and their spice mix is just right.
Pretty much the same here. At least two meals plus soup from each one.
