Average 264-265gr and drop from the mold at .431”

Those will do! Looks like a good mould.
Looks very similar to my NOE copy of the HG 503. Mine go right at 265.

How about I send ya some of the bodies?
If ya find them to work for you....
I think I have some cast up.
Thanks for the offer, but I’m looking into getting a mould. Reason being that I want to cast these weights onto the cable/ wire I have/ use , and will need to adjust the forward wire lengths to accommodate large spinner harnesses. I may also have to alter at least one row to accept a larger size cable. I’m thinking 7x19 3/32” SS, for main spinner body. Appreciate the offer.

Cast up and coated and sized and checked some 360-183rf from NOE. I now remember why all my other pistol molds are plain based. I hate NOE pistol molds as his shanks are always a little larger than other molds and checks are a pain to put on.

Get a tapered check expander and pick up a small used arbor press. Never futz with recalcitrant checks again.

heck Tomme,, the swede can't sell you a check opener tool if they fit his shanks now can he?

that sinker mold looks like it'd make a pretty good bottom bouncer..

i actually eyeballed two of my pots today for about 5 minutes while i was waiting for the shop to warm up.
then it got too hot in there, so i went back in the house just in time for the G-kids to swing by.
they brought over some short bread cookies with a marshmallow topping covered in real fine coconut shreds,, i got even with them and handed out some fruit punch flavored Peeps just before Mom got here.
i think they got the better end of the deal.
anyway my day was shot.

I already made one a year or so ago. But that is another step I have to do. For pistol bullets the checks are not needed. I originally got this mold for my 350 Legend but is does not fit in the throat without seating just about the whole bullet into the case. So it now gets used in the 357 and 38. But not much as the check problem. NOE just needs to stop making the shank so big.

When I got my expander I sat down and did every .30 caliber check I could find in the place. It was a satisfying little project and quickly had thousands expanded. I put a label on each box as I finished each one denoting the expanded condition.
I size with a Star so I don't care if the check doesn't cling to the base of the bullet. I place the bullet into the Star nose first, place a check on the base, push it down. With pointy nosed bullets I keep a sacrificial soft alloy flat nose pusher bullet on hand and drop that into the Star. Push the first bullet into the catch box, pick up the next bullet to be sized and repeat. The pusher bullet drops into the catch box and gets used over and over again.
That way the pointy nose does not put a dimple in the check of the bullet ahead of it, and the pointy nose only pushes against a soft bullet. As with most repetitive chores, one develops a rhythm as you mindlessly progress while listening to an audio book and soon find you are almost disappointed to be done.

As do I except the sacrificial bullet is placed base first against the base of the good bullet I am sizing nose first.

I do bullets nose first also but I can't run them in my bullet feeder through the APP. The checks fall off as the wheel drum spins to sort the bullets. So I have to hand feed them. I have got really lazy because of this thing.

I just reviewed a tool from Pat Marlin, the Tusa top Punch as a pusher to size base first on gas, check bullets with a push through sizer. I know it's different than the star that you're talking about but it sure cures the problem of deformed bullet noses.

NOE makes the same tool as part of their gas check seater/sizer combo tool, but this is a standalone tool from Pat Marlin.

It's to damn cold in my casting shed..like 12 degrees..
No heat in my casting shed, no insulation, lots of air gaps. Got up to +8 today. I plugged in the pot and let it warm up for an hour. Put my new to me jig mould on the hot plate. By the time I got done powder coating them all my feet were getting a little cold. I did put a Mister Heater Buddy heater on a tall chair next to where I was casting so I could warm my hands from time to time. I only intended to make 30, I got carried away.
