i settled in at 22.5 of the IMR brand in the standard Stag A-2 rifle.
it works in the 1-8 heavy barrel a bit better accuracy wise,,, but everything does [shrug] so no shock there.

What bullet , powder & grains. Velocity if known. I'll be shooting a H-B 222 soon.
1984-86 Savage 340C 1-14" at 24" .
NOE 225-55 now listed as 225-62 FP
H322 at 19.0
Win case
2460 fps right in middle of jacketed speed .
There's a little copper in the 75/25 WW-jacketed/plated cores .

other stuff works too.
19-19.5grs of 335 will run an AR with cast too.
you just need gas volume.

Yep.
I had a thread a while back in .223 plane based powder coated 61 grain in the AR. H335 got me the 50 yard 1.5 inch group, practice round I wanted with full cycle.
Kinda gave kept out of this conversation though because I am not sure what the goal is.
I am sure id I had used a checked bullet I could have gotten better. But stopped at what My goal was.
Still use those for plate plinkers.

17gr 5744 under gas checked, powder coated RCBS 22-55s were full function from 20" with rifle length gas on a carbine lower.

I had some WC846 in stock and tried it with the NOE 62 GR Roundnose with gas check, these are only 5 shot 50 yard groups but show some promise. Group 1 (15 Gr - .987"), Group 2 (15.2 gr - 1.405".), Group 3 (15.4 Gr - .509"). Group 4 (15.6 Gr - .685" , 4 in .340"). Will move to 10 shot groups next. Shot in a bolt gun (Cooper 21)P4220050.JPG

yep the up and down [velocity variations] went away right when the groups started.
little trick to remember with jacketed too.

i bet if he goes up more some horizontal will start to creep in.
