I tried the .22 cast bullet thing in the .22-250 about 15 years ago. I didn't like the results. I could have made a bad combination for my twist. I don't know. I would consider it for .22 Hornet, however. I swage fired .22 Short Cases into jackets for the .22 Hornet and make a nice soft point bullet. I'll stick with that for now.

just use the same -same as you use in your AR for the swift and the 250.
same bullet and load.

i don't know why everyone gets all worked up about the 22 rifles with cast, they have been amongst the top three easiest ones i have ever dealt with.
the other 2? the 30-30 and 358 win... just shove some bullets in the case and go up and down as you please.

Imr 4227 powder. 3/4 inch groups at 50 yds.going to 100 yards next.

What bullet , powder & grains. Velocity if known. I'll be shooting a H-B 222 soon.
I had a mossberg 340 in 222rem years back. At that time, I only had the Lee Bator 51gr. which is very different than the current RCBS close that Lee sells now. Anyway, my pet load was 13.6gr of Rx7, sized .226, lubed with Lotak, cast with 94-3-3. It was moving about 2250 fps.

Know way of telling. Cast a few and try them. There's no other way. What have you got for alloy, gas check, etc

I would start with the 415, but the 462 would likely be good also (disclaimer, I've never loaded any 462).
the others will like a slower twist.
OH, and start with a slower powder like H4895 and starting load around 1700fps.

I havent shot 22 cast in years, just dug out my stash,,have some from 10 years ago,,im sure there ww alloy, checked of course.
My 22 hornet shot well,up to 2400fps
My 222 shot real well between 22 and 2400.
But i remember it shot pretty well over 2600,as well.

I thougth when I did my test, I had a chrono along, but I guess not.
anyway, these are the results of my first testing for AR-15 functioning.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got to the range with some 62gr HM² (.226/SL68B) loaded with H4895 for 556 AR (1:9). This was just a test to see what cycles the action. I loaded about 6 rds of each. 18gr. 19gr. 20gr. 21gr.

the 18gr didn't eject the brass
the 19gr ejected the brass, but didn't cycle a new round into the chamber...except the last round, which jammed.
the 20gr cycled as it should, but seemed slow, like a howitzer.
the 21gr cycled perfectly.

This is a brand new DPMS gun, so spring and action may be stiff.

I was shooting off-hand at 25 yards in the pistol pit, all 6 rd groups were 1 to 1.5" with a couple called fliers. so, not a good test of accuracy, but I've seen lots worse in other guns when boolit was poorly matched to load and/or gun.
