At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
The problem with EFI vs a carb is you can't work on it. Changing an injector out isn't a big deal. Chainging the ignition control system is.

Carbs are a thing of the past. Haven't had to service a vehicle, with EFI yet. Oldest, I'm driving is a 2004 Express van. Haven't done anything but change fluids and rubber. At my advanced age, I'm not about to do, anything more than change oil, lube and rotate tires.

Power steering is also a huge joy. No its mot for ese of steering it masks the jars and jolts common with offroad driving.

EFI is pretty much all ya gonna find today. Its been pretty bullet proof. One little down side is plugs. It seems ta eat plugs faster. I keep spares as one time mine went and cause all kinds a issues I never thought would be the plugs...

Just to clarify I love my Polaris! Just answered directly to the heat and noise concerns.

I stopped at the new Can-Am dealer we have in town a couple of days ago. They have an ATV 850 model sitting there and a 570 coming in soon. Both have features that I really like that my tracker doesn't have. The 850 is kinda out of the question, being an ATV and not a UTV it's not a big machine, not for the 84 horsepower. That is a bunch for that machine, thing would probably do wheelies in forward or reverse. At my age I have little interest in seeing how fast it will go or in killing myself. Fortunately I have out grown the need of such nonsense.

The main reason for the interest in the Can-Am is that standard on them is the option of 1 wheel drive, 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive shift on the fly. Tracker does not offer that on any of their ATV's. The Tracker is either 2 wheel drive full time or 4 wheel drive. In fact the Can-Am when in 2 wheel drive if it senses any slippage it automatically shifts into 4 wheel.

Don't know if I'll get the 570, it's not a matter of need. The Tracker is a fine machine and does everything I've asked of it but then damn, a guy does need his toys.

I keep my trails groomed. Hardly, use 2 WD, let alone 4 WD. Even though, nothing is flat around here. Plow the food plot, in 1 WD. Did need 4 WD, when plowing the snow last week.

Yeah, but we aren't talking about a car. Read my post on the $8000.00 hanger queen we bought. I can fix a carb. I can't do crap to a computer except take it to a shop and pay them to replace it.

Many of the trails here won't allow a jeep. I am however considering a mini truck. Barbara thinks we may be better off with one of those.
