I think you may be right. I have said if they come back to 50 a brick we will be doing good. If we get super lucky maybe we will see 40.

Historically, primers cost generally about the same as a pound of powder. Right now, primers are 2 to 3x that, depending on your metric, and powder prices are way too high to start with. Wherever we end up, I expect that a brick of primers and a pound of powder will eventually reach parity at some point. I do not see that happening any time real soon, with all of the government shenanigans going on with no end in sight.

If everyone keeps on charging the $ to pay for everything prices will keep going up. Once everyone goes bankrupt things will get back to about normal. All that free covid $ was one of the reasons that everything disappeared and prices went sky high. If you have free money who cares that primers were $150 and higher.

All that free printed out of thin air sure did cause things to go up. Problem is they will absolutely not come all the way back down. You have more dollars in circulation, making the dollars you hold worth less.

All this inflation was a direct effect of running the printing presses.

Prices may stabilize down a bit, but they wil never get back to where they were.

I'd bet its going to get much worse before it gets better. Election year is coming. It dont matter what side a man is on, good will cost more because of the fear brought about by change/election.

Brace yourselves guys.
You think prices are high now, wait a week or three.
Got an email from Powder Valley saying they are raising their prices significantly come Monday.

I saw that. Very concerning, as it might be a harbinger of things to come across the board, not just for shooting supplies.

I'm ok for quantity, but it would be nice to actually be able to get the powders I want. Once in a while it can be entertaining to work up loads with a powder different than usual, but this constant changing and hunting for supplies is getting old.

I bought a lot of my powder from older reloaders getting out of the hobby at greatly reduced prices.
I was also given quite a bit of powder by friends that knew that I reloaded.

i'm pretty good on a lot of powders, But i'd feel a lot better if i had at least 1 more I-4064.
and maybe another jug of Unique, i think.
got plenty of that 2400-4100 stuff, and more H-110 than i'll ever use [which ain't so much] unless i start blasting off a bunch of 357 maximum rounds for some reason.

i think i need to go and do another inventory actually.

Yes, I'm quoting myself.

Well, the boys at Powder Valley weren't kidding.
Man, did they ever raise the prices today.

Accurate, Hodgdon, and IMR all went up.
IMR powder went up 35% to 38%.

Hodgdon went up 16% to 36% depending on the powder.
TiteGroup went up the 36%.
It was $27.99 per pound yesterday and is $37.99 today.
8 pounders of TiteGroup only went up 29%.

Looks like all Accurate powder went up as well.
Some like 2495 and 4064 went up 41%.
What was $38.99 a pound yesterday is $54.99 today.

Not Good. ™

As annoying as this is, what really concerns me is what this means for the economy at large. I very much want to be wrong, but I keep seeing things that are telling me that things are much, much worse than we are being told and that we're going to have a serious economic event at some point. Probably sooner than later.
