Another vote for the Rockchucker, either 1st gen or the RCll...

Baseball, hot-dogs, Apple Pie and the ROCKCHUCKER!

In a day when if it ain't a new idea (good or otherwise), it's not valid, the Rockchucker plods on as a boringly reliable, especially durable and affordable American mainstay. Surely a few others too, but the Rockchucker pops up a lot.

I don't own one, but have used them. Sure wouldn't try to steer someone away from one. So many things I've come to like have gone by the wayside for the sake of "something new." JUST new, not improved, not better, just NEW. Very annoying.

I love good things which manage to dodge the marketing genius' poison.

My favorite is a Lee Challenger that was gifted to me by a member here.

"O" press, so sturdy.
I built an extra long lever so I can adjust it out for easier sizing when I PC on top of an already oversize bullet.
It catches almost every single primer when I put a container next to the ram.
I do all my brass sizing, de priming and bullet sizing with it. I also do complete start to finish with it some times Especialy during development.

I took enough ribbing on my silver Rock Chucker...

This AM I skuffed it up and cleaned it with solvent hung and shot it with two coats of green spray.

Tomorrow Ill finish the links in blk.

Still waiting on my Inline order but when it arrives Ill have this press ready.

Got all presses, I have plates coming for, all cleaned oiled and greased.

Its not nearly as neon green as this pic makes it out. Lights and camera make it brighter...

Should be good n dry by late next week when the plates show up.

Ponsness-Warren metallic reloaders. www.reloaders.com

I have a P-W P-200 that gets used a lot more than my RCBS RockChucker. I have owned relatively few metallic caliber reloading machines--3 in all; 1) An RCBS Reloader Special from 1978 or so.......2) the current RCBS RockChucker........and the P-W P-200. I do have four MEC 600 Jr. shotshell presses and 2 Lyman lube-sizers, a 450 and a 4500.

Ponsness-Warren makes the best shotshell loaders I have ever seen. The only other press that occurs to me to buy would be the 5-station P-W semi-progressive metallic machine meant for full-length rifle reloading.

So, what type of pricing did you discover currently, for the three hole presses?
.
I ask, because in late 2020, at the pinnacle of when some Lee stuff was unobtanium, and when found it was priced stupidly. I sold my treasure trove of older Lee 3 hole turrets. A complete one brought $125 (I had two of them). The others went for $100 each. I also sold some 4 hole turrets (yes just the aluminum turret, not the press) for $45 each, I think I had 13 spares, sold 'em all. Yes, I know, I should be scolded.

i used to have a Lyman T-Mag Press, but now i have the Lee Classic Cast Press.

I upgraded from a LEE original Turret Press to a Lyman T-Mag.

Used it for a year and wanted my LEE back, so I sold the Lyman and bought another LEE Turret Press.

I once bought a used LEE Turret Press and seven three-hole turrets at a show for $15. I put the press on the table with one turret and sold it that day - for $15. I was up six turrets for the time it took to buy and resell the press. I wish now I'd kept the press too.

up to $100 for some sorry-looking presses. Neglected, abused. Ive seen turrets on eBay for over $50 and you can buy them new for WAY less than that. I don't get it. Then they want $25 to ship. I actually started looking at a new one tonight. $115 for the 4-hole Value(?) press. Probably the way to go, but I wanted to set my son in law up like I'm set up so everything I show him matches and we could share die sets if we wanted to. Not that I'll add any new cartridges, but he might.

Just started mulling the idea over. He's so busy he doesn't have time right now, but he deserves this. He is very fiscally responsible and family-focused and won't spend money he doesn't have. If I start accumulating a piece at a time now, maybe I can get him set up by next year.
