Are they certified organic, biodegradable, and have a net zero carbon footprint as well? I just checked and it appears that all my lube grooves are considered "high-capacity" in your state and thusly verboten, dangit.

My post holes are continuously tested and certified by state inspectors, and are in high demand by the marijuana growers who use them to amend their soils.

Your high capacity lube grooves do pose a possible serious problem. Can you ship them to Cabela's, in Reno? It's about a 5 hour drive, and I should be able to sneak them past the Truckee inspection station disguised as ordinary O-rings. No background check and waiting period to buy O-rings. Yet . . .

My soil is ancient seabed and very sandy, consequently my holes are extra deep. And, they are guaranteed to not contain any material that the state has declared to cause cancer.

I thought everything caused cancer in California. Everything I see has the warning #65 on it. Most be something in the water. Only drink bottled water, the tap stuff might give you an attitude or see warning #65.

The friend I mentioned earlier at a gun show sold most of his powder, primers, and other reloading supplies, an AK-74, a couple of thousand rounds of 5.45X39, one high end AR15, and some night vision equipment and went home with over $10,000.00 in cash in his pocket. He said it was like being trapped in a river full of piranha.
I fantasized, (very briefly), about selling some "things" that I thought might be surplus to my needs. The lure of filthy lucre was somewhat appealing, until I thought about how little our money can actually buy. I could sell some "stuff" and what? Pay for the new chair and sofa? Where will I get more enjoyment in the future? $10,000 used to sound like real money, nowadays, meh, not so much.

Michael--about these post holes.......metric, or SAE?
Oh, boy, Allen, I was hoping to not have to get into this, but . . .

The post hole digger I bought in the mid-'80s had a "Circle M" branded into the handles. When I questioned the store owner he assured me that, though the tool was indeed metric, the 4"4" posts wouldn't know the difference but, because of its larger diameter, I'd need to buy a few extra bags of RediMix. I couldn't wait for him to order an Imperial digger, so bought the tool and carried on.

To shorten the story as much as possible, the "Circle M" did not denote metric. The brand was actually a "Circle W" and the store owner and I had looked at it the wrong way round, thus my holes are Whitworth. Still, they are of the highest quality.

John,
Everything in California may cause cancer. The air, the water, everything. If it weren't for the Jello-brains who voted for Prop. 65, the only cause of cancer would have remained genetics.

Post hole digging has got to be some of the hardest work I've ever done. My Dad gave me the tool and pointed a knotted string tied between 2 stakes. " Four feet deep and not an inch less. " I still ache thinking about it.

You are in luck, sir. Yep, still have the tool, the only one I have actually. Stop by and we can have a cup of coffee, talk about all that 20 mm ammunition we humped, and you can have the tool.

My nephew's crew will be between jobs about the middle of February, and they're supposed to replace all our fencing, then. They have Imperial tools, so I won't be needing it. Not ever.

Glad it's finding a new home. Keep it employed.

He already has sellers remorse. It is fortunate that he didn't sell everything off that he took with him or he'd be completely out of primers too. The guns were replaceable, but it may be a year before some of the reloading components become available again. He sold a lot of high-end, high-performance .308 and 6.5mm bullets. And he was out shopping for powder today, but found very little available. He was able to score an 8 pounder of IMR "Red". Anything in the Red Dot class of powders is a good thing to have for non-magnum handgun calibers. Just like Bullseye, it's probably even good on corn flakes.

I was just over at Ranch Dog's Lee place . There was a 3 box lot of primers that sold for $1,475 + shipping on gun something ...... 50¢ each for 3,000 primers .......
Get Bear trap walletitus at $27/100 for Hornady SST or the loc bullets . The winner would have been better off to have bought a flint lock ....

Just was on Alaska List and there's a listing for small rifle primers 2000 for $240 per thousand. This is madness.
When I sold my stuff, reloading or guns, I would meet them at a store -gas station, I never allow people I don't know out to the homestead.

I despise flippers.

What about if you buy a mold. Cast up fifty or a hundred pounds with it and then put it on EBay? Thereby letting the “Market” decide it’s current value. Is that a despicable behavior?
