How do you cast for your hunting bullets?

It had something to do with bleeding them out. He was hunting to feed his crew on his elephant commercial hunts and he needed raw hide to wrap tusks or something. Another time, another place, but what an adventure. Have you read any of his writings?
No, I have not. What do you recommend ?

You ever tried sizing them all the .311 and being done with it? Seems like oversize is never a problem as long as it chambers easily, but under size is most certainly a problem in anything. Your rifle's throat is really the critical dimension, not the bore.
Don't push him too far too fast Rich. That's why I asked him to ID 3 things he did differently for those rifles. I think we need to get him to realize he's trying to fit the bullet, but we need to walk him out of the Bhn fog first.

I think there are 3 books, "Wanderings of an Elephant Hunter", "Karamojo" or maybe "Karamojo Safari" and then one published after he died that "Bell of Africa" which is the best known one I think. I've seen all 3 but never had a chance to buy them. "Wanderings" was in a base library and I got to read some of it.
