There's the cutest little .250-3000 around here, a tang safety Ruger International. If I had my way they'd have put two more inches on the barrel. Anyway, I run it hard and have shot several deer with the 117 Hornady round nose. Typically they go about 20 to 30 yards and pile up. My wife shot a buck with the 100 grain NBT bullet. I heard the shot and waited 10 minutes and called her on the walkie talkie. I asked, "Did you get one?" "Yes" she replied, "A 6pt. buck." "Is he down?" "Yup" was her answer. "How far did it go?" She said, "About 3 feet." I headed over to her and she pointed out the buck. I looked and in the 3" of snow I could see it had not taken a step. I said, "I thought you said it went three feet?" Sue said, "Yeah, it fell straight down about 3 feet."
Around 1990 I shot 4 antelope with it with 87 grain Hornady spire points. I probably never needed to change loads.
