i don't think it makes any difference.
the barrel either shoots or it don't, it's either smooth or it ain't... [shrug]
if it puts out good groups right off it really doesn't need anything but a bit of load development.
if it sucks it probably needs lapped,, or some copper laid down in the chatter marks.
i had one little walk around weight 223 once that i pretty much tried to burn the barrel out of one afternoon after a lot [like 250 rds] of frustration with it.
it started shooting better and better as i went along [about 100 rounds of one after the other] and it finally settled down.
never had a problem with it after that.
no clue what was in there, and no way to look back then, but whatever it was finally settled down.
most all the new rifles i've bought recently i just shoot [cool barrel style] till they suck then clean them,, over 500rds on one barrel so far [varmint rifle] and pushing 200 on another [my deer rifle]
