Flat rate commission. Feast or famine. Did it for 15 years straight before this, some years were great, some so bad I bounced between jobs every few months trying to find work. BUT, I've been back in my small town for a long time now and it is a cell that has been very isolated from ups and downs in the general economy. We're at ~50K residents in the county but have the second highest per capita net worth in the state, so I'm pretty confident this will work out. I've worked for a dealership here before right before I took the job I'm now leaving and the only reason I quit that dealer back then was the service manager was an incorrigible prick and the only reason I took the job in the first place was desperation.

I have the potential to easily double what I have been making on an average and well more than double it when things click along, so there's plenty of cushion. As Steve well knows we have to keep a healthy savings account to function as an "accumulator" to keep the money pressure constant throughout the year.
Best o luck. Hope you do well for your self.

Eating lunch now. Got the door header cut away, rolled out with no problems, got it over to ther new shop and safely unloaded. Drilled the holes in the feet out to clear the anti vibe mounts. Drilled out the floor for the anchors, we're going to use an epoxy compound and all thread rod, the drive in anchors we have are too short. Didn't have a caulking gun, the anchoring compound is in a caulk size tube, so we stopped for lunch.

Going out to the U after lunch to pick up our surface grinder. We will unload it at the new shop, finish up with the a/cs, and call it a day. We're pretty beat after this week, need some time to rest and heal.

Not much, got a text from kid, her MIL only had broken windows from the Houston blast this morning. Polythene & LOX don't mix well. GS just about fouled out in BB last nite but they did win, 24-6. He missed a bunch of freethrows too. Not nomal for him. He got 11 pts. last week, only 4 this time. Short kids get stuffed a lot. Saw 1917 yesterday, interesting story.

LOX reminds me of a Viet Nam incident: One night, an aircraft crew chief captured a rat in one of the reventments, took it over to the LOX trailer, froze it, then threw it against a reventment wall and shattered it to smithereens. I didn't witness the incident, but was working close by, knew the crew chief and have no doubt it happened.

Down right Balmy today In the upper 50's....And Monday we were not out of the low teens all day! Crazy winter but I think I like it so far!
Sort of like trying to go into a cold pool but once you are it it feels warm! Had a chance to shoot about 50 rounds of 358 Win today in bright sun & melting snow.....Yes I'm liking this! Fixed up some Potato / Cheese Pierogies & Onions for lunch! Then went down to my workshop and cleaned the heck out of it ...It had the remnants of the last 4 jobs cluttering everything: One being my Kitchen sink faucet issue! Never buy a Phister Faucet!
and My Starter on my Troybilt Horse Tractor.....Just crap everywhere.
Want to get the the workbench ready for some gunbuilding again! Tonight I had about 100 range pick 30 WCF cases I had deprimed cleaned and I just annealed them Also About 60 Range pick 243 Win destined to become more 6.5 Arisaka. these were heavily annealed to run through my Brad Special full Arisaka case Swage!
Nice Not having to be at work every day....I'm liking this!

Doctoring and passport renewals this A.M., treated ourselves to El Burrito take-out for a late lunch. In a food coma at present, brought on by BIG chile relleno, two tacos, beans & rice. 75* at home today, this is what sells the real estate in CA. Darn it.

Been studying new and old manuals and Hodgdon's Internet site for 55-grain jacketed .223 Winchester data, and comparing listed powders to what I have on hand. Surprising enough, because the cartridge is new to me -- or will soon be -- I have a good selection of those listed: Varget, H335, BL-C(2) (try typing that fast), and the IMRs 4895, 4198 and 3031.
I suspect that 4198 is too fast, and 3031's long kernels may cause bridging problems, but I manually pour directly into a funnel atop a Lee charging die and can see it when it happens.
I don't want to make load development overly complicated, but am thinking about adding CFE 223 and TAC.

3031 and H322 are pretty tough to beat in your climate. I had really good luck with H335 with heavier bullets. Overall I haven't found the .223 to be very picky with powders. You're going to be in the 22-25 grain range and near a case full of whatever you use and that's pretty optimum for burn/pressure zone. The shoulder angle isn't weird and the expansion ratio is in a good place (like the 7mm Mauser, .30-'06 and .50 BMG).
