well you needed a new hobby.

I swear to god I could speak Taiwanese after building the greenhouse, it only took me about 3 days to learn it too.

I grew up with Texican in the household and furthered that with several formal years. It has come in quite handy if only for reading and listening. I too refuse to speak it to someone who has refused to learn our national tongue.

I spent about 3 months in Baja over 2 years .....I can piece enough together if they don't talk too fast to figure out what they want .
I can order food , drink , fuel , and a restroom reasonably well .

Having once crawled around inside a Lancaster , lusted after a D18 Beech , had a Colts 1860 kind of admiration for the graceful lines of the B17E and later that was beautiful in spite of the scaling issues in the cockpit and windscreens . I don't know that there is really a way around it though .

Like Spanish, Japanese is noun-verb selection. As a result, tech manuals written by Japanese engineers for english speakers can be difficult to comprehend. While the words are english, the sentences sometimes have to be read from end to beginning or right to left. I used to have to translate Japanese-English into English for my fellow Sony engineers.

A guy on another forum was wondering where he could get a mould for this .

I'm leaning towards a Minie' ball here .

especially when that ram rod breaks.

I really hope old Gastin doesn't see that, we will end up with a model 50.

Looks like a single land to me , polygonal rifling for sure .

If it were intended to be shot it's probably a more conventional barrel recessed below .

Saw a big cardinal in a crape myrtle tree today, close to a big blue jay. Crazy jay kept pounding the branch with his beak. Sharpening it? Never seen that action before.

odd bit.
chamois used to be hunted for their meat and then later their skin was used to make the white gloves carriage foots man used to wear.
it was never intended as a water sopper upper rag, the foots men just noticed their gloves done a good job at doing that, and the extra skin become the chamois rags in later years.

split sheepskin is used now days.

First time I've seen an eagle up close. Coming back from Springfield, MO on Sunday evening, eagle was chowin' down on a road kill. Took off as we approached and flew along about 20' in front of the windshield for 60 feet or so. Bright white head, bright white tail and about a 3' wingspan. Very impressive.

My older Cat sharpens it claws every time the kitten does something that pisses her off...Show of Force, I believe.

Just because the world is changing does not mean that I have to accept it and "join". There have been many times when my stubbornness and principles have made my life less than easy, and I'm sure there will be many more to come.

There was an old cigarette (Parliament?) television and magazine advertizement tag line, "I'd rather fight than switch", and showed a guy with a hugh black eye. I don't fight to get a literal black eye, but I'll not "join" just because.
