Stick with Windows. Linux, Solaris, Red Hat and all the rest will just introduce more headaches.

Linux has not caused us any headaches. Actually far fewer.

About a year before XP went dark, I started playing around with various versions of Linux running dual boot systems on my PCs. Even though XP security updates were not available to the home uses at the end of life they were still made available for a few more years to businesses, banks as it was the OS many ATMs used so I hacked the registry to make the update server think I was an ATM.
Anyway, I finally ended up installing Linux Mint as my daily driver around 2014 and haven't look back since.

thanks for this short story...it helps...but I still haven't decided what I'm gonna do?
Picture This is a neat app on my phone. I’m identifying all the trees, wildflowers, and weeds that I’ve been surrounded by for 64 years here on the farm. I was actually correct on most of the trees, but found that on some- I’ve been calling them the wrong name for a LONG time….

Well you can always download a distro of your choice, burn the ISO file to a flash drive and give it a live version test drive before installing it.

That is another item I like about arid places.... no tree huggers to have to tolerate.

Yesterday, I heard a fella give a speech about a town in northern MN, that uses wood waste from a local saw mill and other sources to generate more than all the electricity needs of that town, plus produce steam to heat many buildings and houses in the town. He used the word green energy, since it was using stuff that would normally be disposed of by decomposition. I'm not gonna go into the response this fella got, but it wasn't positive.

"Dude don't injure the trees !" , "Dude I have 4300 trees per acre" , "sure that's a tree every 10ft" , " actually they run 8-11' apart and 8-30" dia in red , white , and mast oak , hickory, black and English walnut , pecan , Eastern cedar and at least 3 pine/firs . So yeah I'm going to damage a few with zero remorse" ....... That kind of crowding isn't good for them why would you grow them that way ..... They were seedlings before my grand parents were born so I didn't draw a breath until after the oaks dropped their 1st acorns so I didn't have a whole lot of say in the matter . "

I have a profile picture I love . It's Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin , Sammy Davis, and John Wayne. After a fellow assailed me with harsh language regarding my racist flag , 1st AR infantry too many offended by Old Glory/36th TN infantry/ Jolly Roger . I said "oh you mean 2 drunks,a bigot ,and a black Jew ?" . Funny I think I might have hurt his feelers . Whatever. The Duke ,Frank ,and Jr were manly men and Dino was there so as far as Mobsters go he couldn't have been all bad .
