Probably Le Royale.

With all the current homestead projects completed I decided to Tried and True the Pedersoli?Navy Arms .45-70 "Buffalo Rifle" rolling block's wood. The first step, washing with mineral spirits and steel wool is done. Used all the 400-grit wet/dry paper doing the last three rifles, so that part will have to wait till tomorrow. Think I'll use 340-grit, instead.

My wife and I jumped through Home Depot's on-line veterans discount hoops. Why a process that used to be so easy -- merely show my V. A. card -- has to be so complicated and fairly time consuming is beyond my comprehension. I know, I know, it's all about change, and all modern electronic change is good. (By the way, we still have an old fashioned, non-electronic telephone. It's in the garage, and wonder of wonders, it works whenever the electricity doesn't.) Tomorrow I'll see if my phone and their checkout gizmo are in love, or not.

Well not all on the grill but I charred the skins of a bunch of Poblano chillies on the weber yesterday and pealed them!
Today I made up some heavily seasoned pork with Puruvian Lime seaoning, some extra cumin & Cyanne , Chopped onions And some Chipotle panko crumbs and a bunch of Colby Jack Cheese and stuffed them and put them in the Ninja on air roast for 18 minutes!
They came out excellent but very filling! I only could eat 2 so I will have a few more days of meals no doubt

the power was out all day here.
we spent the day in Pokie and worked on a menu on the way home.
it was just gonna be some simple polish dogs on the grill and some macaroni or tatoe salad depending.
we got to the one store that was open and cruised back to the meat section and the lights finally come on.
so plan-B went into effect.
still the dogs, but i went with sausage and mushroom stuffed puff pastry cups, and then made a compote from the sour cherry syrup and some grapes and filled an extra puff pastry shell leftover from the other day.
next time it'll be a pie crust or ice cream, but we had the extra pastry.

now if you want to be confused about sweet and sour and mouth feeling, go ahead and make that.
add in a little Vanilla ice cream and use it as a topping instead of for a pie filling and your on to something 5 star.

While not exactly Supper or the grill I pulled the grates out of the LG-700 pellet grill and placed them on one of my propane gas stoves I keep out on the porch. I charred the Hatch Green Chiles to de-skin them prior to canning and making Pasados peppers.

A while back JWFillips sent me a care package with a large assortment of hot peppers. I'm not much of a cook but I do enjoy hot peppers in some foods, my wife not so much. She won't clean them or mess with them in any way and she doesn't like hot foods at all. So I cleaned the peppers and chopped them up in a food processor. If there was enough to split up - I got a lot of Scotch Bonnets and similar, don't remember the names offhand - I put half of them in cotton seed oil, the other half I put in white vinegar. Otherwise I put all of one type in either the oil or the vineagar.

Every morning I eat two scrambled eggs with a dab of hot pepper of one type or another and Kraft Mexican cheese mix. Wakes up the senses, clears out the nose, gets me going more than coffee, it's great. Then a bowl of Cheerios with blueberries, the milk quiets the hot peppers. Good way to start the day.

Also nice to have the peppers to add to just my bowl of chili or bean soup or whatever. Thanks again JW!

My buddy went fishin with out me... Came back to marina and owner asked where I had been he hadent seen me in couple trips. Mike told him and he was taken aback and offered prayers. He met Mike in parking lot with a bag of fresh caught Yellow Fin tuna previously that morning!!

I even cooked it!!! Steamed fresh Summer Squash and sear grilled Yellow fin steaks.

Just S&P w/evoo and three minutes in the pan.

Well my chiiles did pretty well with the massive heat and drought this summer however only the potted ones survives the deer on slot in my regular gardens. Very little tomatoes but the peppers didn't seem to mind Nore did the egg plant ! One eggplant plant produced about 10 fruits and is still producing! Lots of sweet orange bells and Hungarian sweets! I grew the African Peri Peri and it is doing great! I wanted to make my own traditional Harrasa Powder! But those african folks like the real stuff much hotter then I have ever experienced with commercial blends! On 1/2 inch long Peri Peri stops me in my tracks ....it is that hot!

I'm haversting The Rain Forest Chillies because I promised "fiver" some homemade fermented sauce! Only have one potted plant now but should hit my quota by early September!

All in all a bust for my gardens this year but I have 1 plablano plant in the main garden that nothing touched so I have been searing the skins on the grill and stuffing the peppers mexican style for the past month. Only harvested one Hatch style Big Jim & Been making omletts out of it
It is the first time I ever incountered heat out of them! Burns you eyes and nose when you fry them!
Never know what to expect!

The bacon wrapped sirloin turned out perfect. And no lid! Finally getting this Open Grill thing perfected.

I gotta admit, I have never tried Egg plant. Never knew what it was, never knew anyone who grew it, anyone. It is about time I do. Growing up I didn't know anyone who ate Mexican food either. I never had pizza until I was 18 and the first restaurant beef steak I ever had was when my girl friend's, (later wife's), parents took us out to dinner, I was almost 20.

My Mother and Paternal Grandmother were wonderful cooks within their repertoire of Midwest farm folks food. My Dad wanted nothing to do with food cooked on a grill.

Yepper, I like zucchini. It doesn't turn to mush, as fast as egg plant does. We've tried eggplant baked and grilled. No difference.
