I was FINALLY able to shoot these loads. 4759, 2400 & 5744.

The 2400 load was just thrown in to have a load to just shoot and not really prove accuracy or velocity. It was a Rem LR primer and 17g 2400 with a LEE 155g cast powder coated bullet seated to the crimp groove no crimp.
WOW WOW WOW!!! ONE HOLE CONSISTENTLY @ 50 yards!!!

The second loading was a ladder with a 165g Louvern bullet and 4759 powder. 20-22g. As I shot three shot 50 yard groups. I saw a 3" group with 20, 20,5, 21g. Then 21.5 was three IN SAME HOLE!! 22 was back up to near 3". I reloaded two more bullets on 21.5g and fired them back into the same group. First bullet fell 1" low last shot plopped right into existing group. Very happy with that one!

Third load was using a 311284 HP bullet acquired here. 23.5-25g these bullets where able to be seated out full length. EVERY ONE OF THESE LOADS shot about 1" @ 50 yards. None better but none worse. 2" @ 100 is very useable for my purposes. Soon Ill try this out at 100 then 200 Yards. If I can see sub 5" at 200 Ill be very pleased.

I did. NOt bring the chrono this trip but the 5744 loads had more recoil buy quite a bit on par with a 308.

Sure enough. I chose these heavies just cause they are long!! Im "crimping" in a grease groove!!
But the lil 155 is seated "normally" on top of 17g 2400 & shot 8 into a inch!! So there is that too! ;)

"That lil 155" mould would probably be that last .30 caliber mould I'd ever part with. It simply works.

I have to say my Argie has been a pleasant surprise in almost every way. The old thing just WANTS to make nice round groups and if someone other than a blind man was behind the trigger those groups might be even smaller than they are. Nice old rifles that are very, very under appreciated IMO.
