This morning on my scroll through the other site i found a very interesting post. I didn't take time to read it, but i will later today. It is in the Hunting with CB section. The thread is almost a full page long with many pictures of dead animals, meals served, trucks without seat belts, landskapes, people. places stayed at. An older member (Sixshot) posted all of the pictures and stories.

Nieces husband was going to a huge estate sale in Montana and asked me if there was anything I was looking for. Told him large pistol primers but I wasn't going to pay the crazy prices that seem to be the new normal. Told him I'd go up to $35/1000. Got a picture of a box of 2500 Fiocchi lpp with a sticker for $150. Not going to ship, just wait for when the niece comes down this winter.
I've never seen Fiocchi pistol primers, anyone know if they are standard size? I know their shotgun primers are a bit larger than US standard.

I lost a niece last night to Covid.
She was 54 years old with serious underlying issues.
She was a quadriplegic from an auto accident when she was 20.
She had very little lung capacity. She refused to get vaxxed for religious reasons.
I`m not sure that having been vaxxed would have saved her but it wouldn`t hurt.
It`s been a rough year for our family with my wifes issues and now losing my niece.

Sorry to hear of your loss. Statistically vaxxed people get sick and/or die at a much lower rate than unvaxxed folks by a factor of about 11 to 1. But you can't really know what the outcome might have been in an individual case. May her soul and yours find peace.

I did some shootin at the range this morning.

A few months ago, while loading some 9's (auto-indexing the Lee classic turret with Disk powder measure) ...I'd notice a short pour (powder drop), about every 10 or so. When I finally figured out what the problem was (a problem I created BTW) I had loaded 3 boxes of ammo. I set those aside for a day like today, a morning where no one is at the range, so I could do shoot'em "carefully" without an audience.
>>>YAY ! none were squibs. I must have caught them all during the reloading session.

They seemed extra smoky, compared to shooting the same ammo from that lot, on a different day...which I thought was strange, because Carnauba Red isn't very smoky. I was shooting 9mm with the NOE 358-128-SWC, Carnauba Red, 4.6 gr Unique, sized to .357. The only reason I can think of being more smoky, was that there is a Low Pressure Front coming through with a light breeze from the East (which is unusual), so the air was more Cool and more Humid, then previous shootin sessions? In our pistol pit, the shooter faces west, so the smoke was blowing toward the target...maybe that was the difference?

Kevin.
Sixshot is a neighbor and good friend of mine.
he should be heading over to Africa with his Freedom Arms 41 Mag. here pretty soon.

Dick probably showed some stuff from Utah, and a whole bunch of the spots from around here where I go hang out, or cruise through, when I talk about taking a little ride.

Jon.... humidity and unique do that.

spent part of the morning clipping some more of the frost killed leaves out of the garden and bringing in a little bit of this and that.
some of the patty pan squash are getting stupid huge, like 4+"s thick and about 8"s across.
I can't eat a whole one of them, let alone one of those and one of the smaller 4" across ones I've been taking out green.
I took the 4 wheeler and drove a few of them, and some Delicatta's over to Littlegirls place and had a good 1/2hr.-45 minute sword fight with the G-Boy,,,, shields, helmets, and foam swords included.

we even got the G-Daughter a helmet and a tiny sword to play along, but she wasn't doin so well with the helmet and kept falling over sideways, she finally settled on just rolling around on the floor and gumming the edge of the sword.

Had to get the seasonal servicing done to the wood stove. This is turning into a 2 day project. Have to replace the stove pipe which is used as a line inside the insulated chimney. Two stories. About 22’ of pipe. PITB.

Got some NOE 452 304’s size an lubed with BLL and some LEE 452 255’s as well. Going to bump the BE charge up one more time to sneak up on 800 fps with the 304. Going to also give some 2400 at about 9 to 10 grains try and see how that behaves.
The Lee 255’s will be charged with BE. Both of these are sized to .452 for the 22-4 Smith.

The Smith 625 has bigger cylinder throats so I’ve casted the LEE 255 and powder coated them to bump up the diameter a little. Hope to cast up some more NOE 304’s and PC them as well.
Looking forward to getting this 625 shooting.

Sorry to hear that Dale, it has been a rough couple of years for a lot of us.
Praying for our nation, for a passing of this fear that has held it and us prisoner, and for reprieve from all the sorrow for a lot of my acquaintances. You and yours, also on my list.. For a healing of souls. A return of peacefulness.

Dale,
What a sad post and I am sorry for your loss. What a terrible thing for your niece to have been injured in the first place, and to have suffered from such a life altering disability.

At the casting bench in the sky. RIP Bret.
My sincere condolences Dale. Someone in that predicament was a target for the Wuhan or any other virus, bacteria, etc.
