Last year this time there was 6" of global warming on the ground here and one morning the next week I went to work it was -11 . I watched the temp climb from 52 last night when I got off to 71° now . God awful wet too . My personal weather guide says it's either going to start with pouring rain tomorrow afternoon for 2 days or it's going to rain some between now and then and blow out . The weather guys say rain until Sunday ........

Well, it rained here today (12/14), all day long, only taking 10-15 minute breaks between the 30 minute downpours. We have a main branch from one of the berry trees/bushes/shrubs on the ground due to heavy winds from a weird direction, south to southeast all day. Power lines and poles down in some numbers, power outages scattered about the area. The rain was like rain in Florida, not California. I think the 2" estimate was a conservative guess.

Our weather mimic's RB's. Warmer this AM (65*) than it was yesterday afternoon. Damp here too..............2/10 inches, overnight. Wind Advisory out for today with slight chance of rain. T-storms for Thursday and Friday, highs in the low 60's. Back in the mid 40's for the weekend.

we are excepting a Big Storm to roll in this afternoon. Wind advisory, thunderstorm, possible tornado activity, then rain turning to snow...and ice in between I suppose?
I'll be battening down the hatches.

At least you won't have to worry about trees dropping on power lines, like here.;)

Yep, storm fronts blowing over every 24 hours or so, then bright sunshine. But not getting much snow sticking or rainfall. Typical December weather for us.

If you saw my neighborhood you would realize that trees are a prominent player

Don't worry about me, its winter and I will be staying south of the 30th parallel until after Easter.

Yep, no wagon trains through there after late Summer.

At 6pm, The radar sure made the BIG storm look nasty, and the weather dude told me to go into the basement.
At 7pm, the storm arrives, but it was a BIG nothing, during the storm, it was 60º and almost no wind, maybe 1/4" of warm rain and Lightning and thunder to the distant east of me. That was 2 hours ago. Maybe the wind picks up later tonight? or maybe not? It's 55º right now, and suppose to get colder as the front moves northeast. I hope there is some snow with that.

probably be okay in a wagon, except for the part where the lake now covers the trail of ruts.
well,, that and the face full of snow you'd get.

Theoretically, I was off work today (though I worked last night--my "Saturday"). Anyhoose, I was at the office to interview for a transfer. Halfway through, we got word of a tornado warning and had to take shelter. I cracked up, not the first time I've had that happen. One of the folks doing the interview said I was obviously a Nebraska native.

No tornado touchdowns here, but the winds were interesting. Driving home, I saw centerpivots blown over powerlines, round haybales pushed out of line, etc. Could have been worse.
