What is your weather today?

Hourly saying 25 degrees, our digital thermometer is reading 27* , currently. Sunny and no wind to speak of. High is suppose to be 55, this afternoon. Mid 70's by Wednesday. I need to trudge out back and test the 338W, at these low temps, with regard to the lube change.

Per the weather oracles, rain here Mon night and Tues all day. Total accumulation ~2", which means 18"-24" of snow in the local mountains. Things have definitely cooled off hereabouts, Marie said that at 6:30 A.M. yesterday on her flight line it was 33*, which is normal for this time of year historically. She was told that a Kentucky Amazon facility was destroyed by a tornado, with 4 employees killed.

They do make weather alert radios that sell for @ $20.............we have one on each floor. They are loud enough even to wake the soundest sleeper. Watches were put out starting at 7 PM, that night, here...............so it's not like there was no warning. We even get e-mail alerts for sever weather. You'd have to have your head in the sand.
Spending most of my working life in the emergency response trades, most people think nothing bad will happen to them. And they are correct! It is sad to lose 100 fellow citizens in one night to weather, but how many millions were spared? Personally I would rather be one of the millions and not one of the hundred. I'm aware of what is happening and try to be prepared.

Not today's, but yesterday morning's weather. Got up to let the dog out about 6:30. Sky had a very odd orange color and low clouds. Realized we hadn't gotten the bad weather predicted overnight. Good. But spoke WAY too soon! Then I noticed lightening on the horizon... So I hung around for a few minutes, and that's all it took. We had about 50-60 mph wind and heavy rain. Was looking for a tornado. And then I saw a flying saucer! It flew about 125-150' from its original spot in the neighbor's yard to mine. Cleared both fences (no damage), hovered over them for a few, then plopped in my yard. Fortunately it didn't get into the house. And didn't even divot the yard. Today we dismantle it.

An inch of rain is scheduled for today, starting about noon, followed by two inches tomorrow. That's 60% of the entire total of last year.

Currently -26 below headed for -35 below.

You can tell when you’re in the Arctic or subarctic as I am, when you ask a person what’s the temperature at your place? Answer: 26. Everyone up here would know it’s -26 below. Don’t need to mention it’s a minus temp.

-30 below this morning, Alaska’s way of saying goodbye I guess. We fly out at 2 this afternoon for the lower 48 so figure it’s just a send off so we don’t forget what we’re missing.
But buy Thursday it’s looking like above zero but 50% chance of snow for the next five days.
I’ll probably have webbing between my toes in Washington. Weather temperatures where are motorhome is stored look ok yet, so should be good to go. It’s stored under cover so at least it won’t have turned green with mold.

I was excited about the 1" of yesterday's scheduled rain. Nope. The rain frog says about 1/3".
Weather guessers have downgraded today's scheduled rain from 2" to 1" to 1 1/2", and are guessing 20 mph sustained winds with 46 mph gusts. Skepticism has replaced excitement.

Looks like we may have rain for much of the day. Weather says 30 to 60% chance from 10AM to 4PM. High of 62 degrees today and maybe low 70s tomorrow. Kind of out of character for December.

It's been snowing for the last couple of hours. Starting to stick, and it's supposed to continue, off and on, for the next few days.

Fifty degrees this morning when I went out stump sitting. Surprised to see the sun (see Smokey's post) and stayed out till I came back in at 9:30 AM. Currently, having very light nuisance rain. Suppose to be over a little past noon. Weather guessers changed their mind on the all day rain. :headbang:

The rain frog says 2 5/8" after 27 hours of on and off rain. My skepticism of yesterday was misplaced, but I'm not about to apologize to the weather guessers.

Misty rain all afternoon , wet , sweating concrete all over (atmospheric water sticking to the cement not some weird grey mud oozing out of my person).
