Cool 41*, beautiful deep blue partly cloudy skies, might hit 60. Westerly breezes. They say the bottom will fall out of the temperatures for a couple of weeks.....polar vortex. You guys out west are welcome to keep that stuff, you really don't have to share it with us.

heck Rick those isobars don't stack up for nuthin.
sometimes it's just so we can have a tornado, or a foot of snow in late May, sometimes it's a benefit and makes the cold air shove over to the east side of the Rockies.
it was still in the low 20's when I got up this morning, but the wind wasn't trying to rearrange my yard, and it wasn't even wet from dew out there,,,,, so I don't know... LOL.

I went to the range today. 66 degrees F and a light breeze. One other shooter there for a short time. I shot for about 2 hours by myself and had a great time.

Yep, I got to the range today, too. First time since first week of February. There were 22 people signed in when I got there at 1400, but only six left there still shooting. When I left at 1600 there was only me and Joe, my shooting buddy.

And they still get it wrong half the time.

It's weird here. Been overcast or hazy with wispy clouds and gusty wind for a couple days, the jet stream is definitely outta whack.

Got a lifelong friend with 50 acres a bit out of Abilene. When I was looking to buy here he tried mightily to get me to move there. The constant repressive depressing unrelenting intolerable heat is precisely why I didn't even look at property there. Now Rick H I believe is near Detroit where John (Winelover) escaped from. I assume he's fond of snow in the middle of growing season.

Lubbock has to be the worst. Hot as the hinges of hell, wind never stops blowing, flat, treeless, ice storms, snow, tornadoes, and unbelievable rainstorms/flash floods. At least Abilene has some rolling hills and trees.

we are just having 40+ degree temp swings bout every day.
the wind was off and on all day.
I thought I was dying when I jumped in the truck at about 2 PM so I flipped flipped on the A/C.
then noticed it was only 62 hottest day of the year so far.

I have been feeding the woodstove the last two nights. Low 20's here this morning. Walleye fishing opener tomorrow in Mn. Talking to a buddy of mine who is fishing at Lake of The Woods tomorrow. He said weather forecast was for a "Noon Bite", meaning too friggin cold to be on the lake in the morning!
Gov. Walz, advised anybody fishing, to go no further than" one tank of gas" round trip to prevent spread of virus. Reports are cars heading out of Metro areas (Msp/ St. Paul) headed North, was steady traffic. People are getting tired of being locked up.
