Stockholm Syndrome= empathy for, in some extreme cases protective of your captor.

Allen, I got that right didn't I?

You sure it isn't just the Stockholm Syndrome from being captive to a long, cold winter?
Maybe?
Honestly, I like all the seasons in MN, and more aptly, I like when they change. But Spring is my Favorite.
...and I will admit, since I grew up with this weather, it's what I've come to expect.
I hear So Cal has some nice weather, maybe I should pack my tent and go there for a visit, I hear there is plenty of free camping along the CEEment rivers, LOL

Close to 80* the last few days and in the 80s next week.
The wife is hinting she wants the ac turned on.
I'm trying to hold out for a few more weeks. Probably a futile effort.
Happy wife, happy life!

My wife made banana bread, yesterday. I'm making stew, today.
Mrs. smokeywolf makes amazing banana bread. It was one of Timber's (my avatar) weaknesses. Came home from work one morning (graveyard shift) and found a loaf of banana bread inside the microwave oven. MMMMM!
When Mrs. smokeywolf woke up she said that she had made 2 loaves, but Timber stole one of them off the breadboard. It was one of only two times in his life that he stole food; other time was a doughnut.

Been raining for much of the last 10 hours or so. As Winelover said, about 1-1/2+ inches last night. Not much in the last 3 hours.

The banana bread recipe is from my wife's grandmother. It requires "sour milk".

Well besides hitting 31 below Saturday morning, the record for March 13th set in 1911 was 57 below. Coldest I've seen it in March on a couple of occasions has been in the minus 40's. Cold enough for spring.

There ya go, see, I'm done with Winter. Did my 32 ice fishing trips. Done with the syrup making, started the gravel sweeping out of the lawn. Start getting the boat ready soon. We've had 1/3 to a 1/2 inch of rain to desalt the roads. We can't wait for motorcycling.

A little cooler at night again, 20's and 30's. Forecast highs from high 30's to upper 40's for a few days. Rain mixed with snow every couple of days. Warm up after Wednesday.

The good news is that John at least temporarily has solved his skeeter problem.

Yeah break-up will start first part of April, will be getting the hard pack ice and snow pealed off the road next week in preparation for thaw.
Woke up this morning and the house felt cool. Stoked up the wood stove and Check the boiler. The boiler was showing a call for heat, but nobody home. Shut down the power and did a restart. Everything is working good now. Second time this winter. Hate electronics at times. Gremlins.
We have been doing the snowbird thing since 2015 except for this last winter.. Longest we've stayed outside has been four months.
Going to start snowbirding in a serious fashion this next fall.

Well Rick Mother Nature has that problem under control.
We won't get skeeters till May 5th which is about the same day the buds start unfurling. The Skeeter is out State bird.

Where in Alaska are you John G, if you don't mind me asking?
At least I am assuming you are in Alaska...

I am 30 miles north of Denver.
It is snowing to beat the band and we have about 12 to 14 inches of very heavy wet snow on the ground.
Temp is about 32.
If it would just warm up 3 or 4 degrees this would be rain.
Don't think that's going to happen.

Smokeywolf--yup, that's "Stockholm Syndrome".

Off and on rain here since Tuesday, and unseasonably cool. I spoke with an old partner that lives in the local mountains (Idyllwild) and he got 10" of snow as of Friday and was expecting 5"-7" more through today. I am certain that the start of Daylight Saving Time today will spell the end of winter forthwith--that's why we have it, right? More sunshine later in the day makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
