Currently at 5:30 -17, sunrise at 9:42, high today -11, sunset 3:31. For 5 hours and 50 minutes of daylight. The nice thing a this latitude is long twilight and awesome sunrise and sunsets. Clear as a bell and beautiful.

28ish at 3:30 AM when I couldn't sleep and went out to take pics of the lunar eclipse! Dang - it ain't supposed to be that cold here this early. BUT - good news as we are going duck hunting in the AM. Supposed to be 34 tonight. Perfect!

Almost 20 degrees warmer here this morning at 36. No wind, a mild Opening Day of Deer gun season. I'm not going out in the dark though. I'll wander out later, when I feel like it. Having a deer in the freezer makes a difference.

Our gun opened last Saturday. Today's morning temperature was 42*, compared to yesterday's 25 degrees. Tomorrow's low will be in high 40's but rain is forecasted. :( I sat out for three hours, nothing was moving, not even the three gray squirrels I see all the time. Make's a big difference if you already have one in the freezer. Does and small bucks get a free pass, since I'm hunting mature bucks with minimum of 6 points. Only have one buck tag left............I can still take up to four antlerless deer.

While I was sitting in the woods, Cindy took 70 photos of a Red Shouldered Hawk, from the kitchen window.

You're tougher than I am, John. I need a light jacket if the temperature dips below 65-70.

40* and up is tee shirt weather Ian. But, I’m not tough anymore, I tend to be hugging up to the wood stove last couple of years. Looking forward to Arizona this winter.
And on your end of the spectrum of temperatures, I remember working in Indio and Palm Springs in the summer. On the job site before sunup, work till noon, go back to the motel, get in the pool with just enough chin out of the water to drink a cold beer. Back on the job by 4:00 till dark. Shorts, nail belt and tennis shoes was the main wardrobe.

Looking forward to Arizona this winter.
John,
Don't know where your Arizona Winter will be, but an FYI: I was stationed at Luke Air Force Base, just West of Phoenix, for six months. One December '67 Sunday morning I awoke to see snow on the ground. There's a story for another time about pushing hay bales out of the back of a C-119 to feed Indian reservation cattle that couldn't find food for the snow, not far to the South of Phoenix.

If you find that you are really missing the snow and cold, there is Flagstaff.

Nice weather here for the past couple days. Marie is at work herding aircraft today, I am holding the fort at home and have some excellent shrimp fried rice leftovers from last night to plow through in a bit. Bright, clear weather here today, high of 80* predicted along with Red Flag Warnings about high winds. These weather liars sure are twitchy about their predictions. It's autumn in SoCal, the wind blows in from the desert. No big deal.
