We got up to 67*, yesterday with full sun and light winds. Was nice sitting on the south facing porch and soaking up some rays. Woke up to 48 degrees, this AM. High is suppose to be 71* today...............79* tomorrow and 77* Friday. Summer is back.

Mild this morning, 36. The weather has been decent again but you certainly notice the difference in the strength of the sun's rays. The temps peak and then the warm feeling rapidly declines as 3:00pm rolls around and the low sun angle starts to dip behind the hills. I was polishing truck rims and had to peel off a layer on the sunny side of the truck only to quickly put it back on when I switched sides. Half hour later I was glad to go in the house. Anyone else miss plain old steel rims and wheel covers?

My two full size Chevy vans still have painted steel wheels and lug nut covers. Cindy's Colorado is the only vehicle we own with alloy wheels.

This morning like usual. I was reading the new posts on a web site. The light level was increasing. An i realized there was a faint purple tint to everything. Unlike Winelover's beautiful sunrise pictures that show streaks of pinks and reds. The sky i was looking at was a consistent purple.
The first thing I thought of was that this is the beginning of the Rapture.

Well temperatures have moderated a little with a blast of cold Friday and Saturday, but with a break next week. Nice, above temperatures will be appreciated.

Well it’s that time of year where the sunrise and sunset emoji’s are on the same screen. It happens in summer as well but in reverse. 4 hours and 40 minutes today, by 12/20 we will be under 3 hours of daylight per day. But, on 12/20 the days start coming back!!!

As a matter of curiosity I searched for the difference between a lake and a pond the defining difference is that a lake has a photosomething layer where the transmission of light stops and a pond does not ......... So Walker Lake with a depth of only 250 ft remaining has been a lake since 10,000 BC or so and Lake Tahoe has only been a lake for about 25-30 years before that since the water cleared up from the earthquake that left a standing forest to petrify on the bottom it was just a pond .

We peaked about 74°F today , clear skies , dry , expecting 36-38° overnight .
Those of us that grew up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, define a pond as manmade, everything else is a Lake...except a marsh or a slough...all of which, are not manmade.

First day of December in Montana and it was suppose to be 60* in Missoula. Looks like it's only going to make 58* though. Feels like a March spring day here.

Am I ever glad I am not waiting for ice. In a normal year I expect to be standing on ice by Pearl Harbor Day. Because I have this Texas trip looming in the near future I have been busy prepping for that instead of wailing and gnashing my teeth over these mild temperatures. 50 this morning at 5:45 am! Went out to feed the birds in the dark and there is a SW wind howling in the tree tops up on the ridge. Had to be something pumping that warmth up here.

My wife is even happier that I am distracted. Apparently she feels I would be testy if I was watching the weather every day and not getting sub freezing temperatures. Instead I am cleaning the truck, packing gear, and watching U-tube videos on duck hunting the Gulf and catching red fish.

Only made it to 78 degrees, yesterday. Not a record high for December. Today's high is suppose to be the same. Was 50* at 5 AM, when I went out tree sitting. Currently 63* with sun. Clouds forecasted for this afternoon.

You guy’s are depressing.

Currently -29 below supposed to reach -33. But moderating tomorrow. And we are still losing 5 minutes of daylight but the loss is slowing down.
Above zero for a good portion of next week. Wahoo!! Did that sound excited? 9 more days until we can reclaim our old motorhome in Washington.
