Supposed to be nice here this weekend.
Sunny and mid sixties today and mid seventies tomorrow.
I'm going to get some more of my lead blended and the dog needs a bath something terrible.

The hard freeze, last Wednesday, took it's toll on a lot of vegetation at my place. Not just recently planted stuff but established trees and shrubs in the open areas. Leaves shriveled on Rose of Sharon, Myrtle, Hibiscus, Button Bush and Beauty Berry. Even hit small oaks and hickory. Bloomed iris were unfazed.

Woke to cloudy skies and 42 degrees. Heading to 60 or so and predicted rain this evening. Not an unpleasant morning.

We got our rain last Friday.
2-1/2 inches in about 1-1/2 hours.
Along with high winds and pea size hail!
Was a real frog strangler! Completely over the curbs in the street.
Great day today. High in the lower 80s with lots of sunshine.
Sunshine makes me smile!

Wahoo! First time in two weeks -- maybe longer -- that I woke up to sunshine.

Summer is back, in the 90's already. Here in deep south Texas we have 2 seasons, summer and 2 weeks of winter. The winter though is not contiguous, we get it in pieces.

it decided to start snowing last night, flip flopped back and forth between snow and rain all day with a winter weather advisory just to our north and up over into Wyoming.
only 2 more months of hard frost to go.

Hot! Too frickin Hot! 90 degrees in April? What the hell?
Welcome to deep south Texas. If you don't like the weather, stick around, it will change...maybe for the better. There is a time each summer which I call the 100 days of 100*, I hate those days....

Weather has taken a turn toward warmer, finally. Maybe done covering up plants. I saw 79 briefly on the Indian's instrument pack. Mostly cloudy, started out in the low 40's and a westerly wind still had an edge to it. Then the the wind swung from the south and you could immediately feel the softness to it.

We are headed to Northern WI for the inland fishing opener on May 1st. They had a Winter storm advisory for last night. Only 255 miles away. Part of prepping for the opener is getting an old Grumman Sport Boat and its trailer and accessories ready. We took it to a local back water lake off the Wisconsin River this afternoon to let Sue run the small outboard and for me to check out my oar risers. We saw King Fishers, Blue Wing Teal, Wood Ducks, Canada Geese, and lots of turtles sunning on logs.

Came home about 3:30pm and it was getting so nice I raised and eyebrow and said, (in my most suggestive tone), "bike ride?" 7 minutes later we rolled out of the shed and put on about 85 miles. About 10 of those were on gravel roads, not my favorite because I can't just relax and sight see. As we putted past a couple of different dairy farms on those gravel back roads we got enthusiastic waves from a couple of farm families. Sue said to me, "When do you suppose they last saw a motorcycle on their road?"

One stretch of a county road had millions? billions? of Rue Anemone flowers in the woods. It almost looked like snow. They were everywhere for two or three miles then nothing.

Hit 85* yesterday. Partly cloudy. Winds were breezy enough to make it comfortable. More of the same, today but without the sun. T-storms for Wednesday and Thursday.

We have some weather here right now. Just came out of a tornado warning that lasted about 40 minutes. 67* out, pouring rain, some lightning-thunder.
